*Chapter 2, The hunt

On the next day at the Forbidden forest

Cross pov.

I had just arrived in the forbidden forest. Where I will be joining Undyne's group of hunters. Before we head out for hunt. Undyne makes a short announcement. "Okay, listen up you punks.  We all have to stay together as a group and don't get lost. Once you do then forget about coming back alive" said Undyne.

All the hunter and huntress didn't show any fear. "Then let  go!" Undyne roar out and lead us into the forbidden forest. Well, this is going to be a long night, as we walk into the forest we set up some traps for the vampires. As we walk even deeper into the forest. I started to think about my past why I wanted to keep a secret as a vampire hunter.

I was packing my hunting gear. Before I head out for work " Cross! Do you have to go?". My little brother,  Chara calling out to me not wanting me to leave him. "Yes, Chara you know very well I needed to work", I needed to remind my brother that I need this job for us to have food to survive. My little brother and I live in a small village and we are very poor. I was just turning 14 and my brother is 8 years old. Our parents had abanded us when I was just 10 and chara was just 4. The villagers were not willing to help nor support us there were only care for them self and we were on our own. it was very hard but I had learned to survive and learned to hunt like animals and fishes for food and then got myself a job and then I turn 13, I started joining a small group vampier hunters as a job there pay more than my normal jobs and I was able to take care, my little brother with this small house I bought thanks to this new job.  "Okay, be back home safe! " Chara said with his cheery voice. "I will !" I turn and wive and head off.

The job I had gone on was a job request like killing the vampier near old bludging stuff like that. After doing my job it was already dark and I head back home. Once I was home, I was shocked to see my home was trash up and I don't see my brother then I heard a scram. It came upstairs. I rush up to see a vampire hold my little brother on the neck ready to bite it. I was angry but scared that he might hurt my brother then my brother saw me."Big brother Help me!" Chara cries out for my help. I pull out my knife and run to the vampier. I try to stub him but he dodges it then he Kick made me hit on the wall and slid to the floor. I tried to get up but the impact too strong and I fell back down it hurts a lot then shouted at the vampier. "vampier let go of my brother!"

The vampire looks at me and shows smirk enjoying the cries of my brother calling out for my help then he escapes by jumping out from the window and flew far away up in the sky with my brother in he grasps. I was in shock and stunned, even try to chase him will be impossible to catch him. I was filled with tears and regardful. I had lost the only family I had left who truly cares and love me and now he is gone forever and it all my fault that he is gone! I quit being a vampire hunter, it just remains me of failing to protect my little brother.

- Flashback ended -

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't realize I got myself lost from the group. Then I then heard some sound from the bush, at first I thought it was just in my head. Then I walk a little more than, suddenly it happens again then I saw something move. I got panic and pull out my knife.

Before I could even pull it out, my knife it was snatched out from my hand, then I got to push into a tree. I look up to see who had attacked me and i what I saw makes me not to want to remember. it was the same vampire who took away my little brother away from me 4 years old ago.

'It has been a long time I had to see you again little mortal, my look at how you have grown ~ and here you are with me midnight of the night as especially in the forbidden forest.I got scared and froze. I try to pull out my backup knife but vampire grabs my hand push in an above my head. I try to kick him but it was no use. Before I could react the vampire bite on my neck. I started to feel very dizzy and my vision becoming very blear. Before I lost consciousness, again I was something move or was it all in my head.

[Cross Blackout]
