Chapter 32: Promise between Rivals

         (Island Near Foodvalten) (Ace and F/n's Location) (Three Days Later)

    F/n and Ace stood across from each other both struggling to catch their breath with bruises all over their body and blood dripping from their noses and foreheads. The once bright green grassy island inhabited only by wild beast, now covered with a thick layer of ash floating in the air from a mixture of the animals that once lived on the island and the plant-life, the ground completely burnt black. The only two left on the island were the males who have been fighting each other non-stop for the past three days. F/n ran up to Ace both of his legs unsteady only able to cover his fist with armament haki, his fist flickered between the hardened black color and his normal skin color, punching towards the ribs of Ace, seeing the incoming attack Ace covered his ribs with the same haki blocking the attack. At the same time both of their armament faded completely the two looked at each other Ace pulling F/n by the arm dragging his body close to him to deliver a headbutt to his forehead, stumbling backwards the hit sending F/n's head upwards looking up to the ash covered sky. The two males both struggled to continue standing after fighting constantly with their abilities for three days their bodies ached in pain,neither able to fully make use of their logia fruit or haki after their last attacks and exhaustion was starting to get to them.

F/n:..............................

Ace:............................

F/n wiped away the blood that was dripping from his forehead towards his eyes. Before Ace could catch his breath F/n ran forward uppercutting Ace in the jaw blood flying out of his mouth and into the air,without missing a beat before F/n could bring his arm back towards his body Ace tightly grabbed his right arm twisting it until he heard the sound of it cracking before he had the chance to completely snap it F/n made a fist with his left hand smashing it hard into Ace nose the feeling out it breaking and blood pouring outside his nose made Ace release him. The two jumped away from each other Ace wiping away the heavy flow of blood coming from his nose and F/n staring at his right arm changing to a bruised purple color.

F/n: Fufuhahaha

Ace: Hahahaha

Ace faced forward towards F/n both had the same competitive smile on their worn out faces using this brief moment to try to catch their breath.

Ace: Isn't about time......you admit defeat......F/n

F/n: Huh yeah right...........if I lose here.....it would hurt my pride as Captain of the Leviathan Pirates.......and future husband to the most.........beautiful woman in the world.......

Ace stared at him with a confused blank expression at his statement.

Ace: What kind of..... insane reason is that.......

F/n chuckled in pain at the question the other male gave him thinking about his promise to Smoothie.

F/n: You have your pride as a Whitebeard pirate.....that's what keeping you standing if you lose......It would seem like you let him down wouldn't it?

Ace nodded his head staring at the man whose eyes seemed to barely see him from the mixture of blood dripping down his forehead towards his eyes and something else he couldn't quite place.

F/n: My crew sees me as the......strongest and because of that I can't let them down.....when I get back to them they expect to hear that I won....but not only that....

F/n struggled slowly walking forward towards Ace seeing him walking in his direction Ace dragged his feet slowly toward F/n the pain going through his body making it hard to even walk. The two now in-front of each other sent a punch to the other's face, Ace's punch impacting before F/n's punch could, seeing that F/n was struggling to lift his damaged arm Ace used this opportunity to follow his punch up with another to the face and then the stomach of F/n, when his head went forward Ace punched the back of his head downward with the intent to knock him to the ground. Falling forward F/n grabbed onto Ace body to keep himself from hitting the ground, using as much of his strength and the momentum from falling to headbutt him hard in the chest making the two fall on the ground. F/n rolling away from Ace body both males staring at the sky with a stunned look on their face. Ace painfully turned his head towards F/n who did the same.
