As Toby watched her walk away, his mind got the better of him. The voices taking over and speaking on their own free will as he uncomfortably picked at his food.

The hot water felt cold as Alice's mind swarmed with bad screaming loud enough to drown out any good. As she finished with the shower, she realized she had been crying.

Toby's breathing was heavy hearing the shower turn off hoping he could at least hear her knowing it would calm him down. The tapping of his foot underneath the table was drowned out by the voices.

Alice didn't bother drying off as she quickly wrapped a towel around her to cling to his side. Toby jumped at the sudden unexpected touch. Pulling her into a hug, the voices flipped off like a switch at their contact. Toby gripped her arm. "A-Alice" She looked at her arm clenching her jaw a bit. "So loud.. Stay close..please." She nodded agreeing and started prying off his fingers. Toby noticed letting her go. "S-sorry." Alice smiled.

"It's okay." She held the towel close to her body. Alice held his hand wanting him to follow her back into the room. He nodded. They picked out her outfit together.

After getting dressed, they cuddled on the couch.

She kissed his cheek before her eyes widened. "We didn't use protection." She whispered.

"Shit, but you didn't wake up with morning sickness or anything," Toby reassured her. "Plus with you being..." He trailed off as she nodded feeling guilty. Tears started forming in her eyes. "C'mon its fi-" Toby stopped his eyes widened. His ears filling with static. "They know of my absence." He croaked out not able to hear himself speak. Toby twitched more than usual sending Alice in panic.

Slowly her tendrils came out. She kissed his cheek. "They're going to take care of it."

"Alice..Alice no-"

"I want to protect you."

"I'm more concerned about you."

"I'll be fine."

Toby didn't respond. He ran grabbing his mouth guard and goggles. He quickly changed into the outfit and gear he wore when the lovers first encountered each other. Hatchets in hand he whispered, "Forgive me."

"Y-you can't leave me-"

Toby went silent before running down to the basement. He managed to go out of the vent he came through a few nights ago running full speed to the woods.
