December 20, 1926

(Y/n) looked at the time as she washed her plate, already finishing up dinner. Percival still wasn't back from work, his food was getting cold. But why would she care, (Y/n) reminded herself as she tried to not angrily slam the glass plate into the drying rack. He never cared about her since he came back. He rarely spoke to her and it was to the point where she was used to it, never speaking to him or bothering him, like a good fiance. There was enough on her shoulders with the wedding planning and with work but she was trying her best. (Y/n finishes drying the dishes, placing her hands on the sink and sighing deeply, clearly stressed. Her Puffskien, Bludger, rubbed against her leg, trying to be comforting and emitting a low hum. She smiled softly as she stared down at her pet. The door of their shared apartment is heard opening then closing, the sound of her footsteps came closer as she hears him set his coat and briefcase down. (Y/n) doesn't bother greeting him as she started to dry the dishes. She could feel his dark eyes staring at her.

"So I don't get a 'welcome home, dear'?" He asked as he stood there with his hands in his pockets. She continues to ignore him while placing a plate she dried on the table, Percival scoffs. "It's going to be like this now?"

"What do you expect, Percival?" She snapped with a glare at him, "You expect me to welcome you home with a smile when there's obviously problems that we're having. And we're not even married yet!"

"Well I'm sorry that work decided to pile up." He snapped back with a glare. She scoffed and turned her back at him again to continue to dry the dishes.

"It's always about work, Percival. Why can't you just admit that we're struggling right now because ever since you came back from Europe, you've been acting so weird and it's honestly getting on my last nerve." There's silence between the two as she placed another dried plate down, "It's like you came back as a completely different person. I want to be a good fiancée and wife for you and help you but every time I try to talk about it with you start yelling at me." (Y/n) sniffed as tears started to fall, "I get that you're stressed but has it ever came to you that maybe I'm stressed too? I'm busy planning our wedding, dealing with paperwork, and trying to figure this whole Grindelwald thing out." She placed the drying rag down along with a cup to rest a  hand on the counter as the other wiped the falling tears from her cheeks, "You don't talk to me anymore, you treat me as if I'm some object and not to sound too clingy or anything  it you seriously haven't paid attention to me at all since you came back. You never hug me or kiss me good morning or good night. Your back is always facing me when we go to sleep. It's like you don't even care or love me at all anymore!" She tries to hold back a sob, "A-All I want is for you to talk to me, anything. Just so I know that we're still a functioning couple with a stable relationship."

A pair of arms  wrap around her waist from behind, making her jump slightly at the sudden embrace as tears continued to fall. "I'm sorry, I had no idea that you felt like that." He spoke with a gentle tone, resting his chin on her shoulder, "It's just the stress of this case getting to me, love. I put myself over you and that was wrong of me. I'm sorry." (Y/n) grimaced as she slowly turned around to look at him, her (e/c) irises meeting his dark ones. He looked somewhat genuine as she glanced down.

"I don't want you to apologize, Percival. I want you to reassure me that we're okay and not falling apart." She said in a soft but shaky tone, "I want you to talk to me and not ignore me or constantly yell at me." Percival takes her chin between his index finger and thumb to make her look up at him.

"I understand. But I'm fine, really." He reassured as his other hand cupped her cheek and his thumb wiped away the falling tears, "We're fine. We're going to be okay." (Y/n) let out a content and relief sigh as she leaned into his touch that she's been longing for. "I'll try my best to help you, but you have to understand that work has been a pain in my ass. All I need is space right now, is that okay with you?" He asked as he stared at her, she looked at him with a slight grimace before nodding a bit.

"Of course..." She said quietly as he smiled a tiny bit and leaned down to place his lips against hers. (Y/n) felt more at ease than she was before at the feeling of his lips finally on hers. Letting out a sigh of relief through her nose, she kissed back as her eyes fluttered shut and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They pull away briefly for breath before pulling each other into a hug, she nuzzled her face into his chest as he rested his chin on her shoulder.

"Everything's going to be okay." He said as she bit her cheek and nodded.

"Y-Yeah..." (Y/n) held onto him tighter as she felt safe being in his embrace once more, "I love you, Percival." A dark smirk crosses his lips as he glanced in the mirror behind her to see a reflection, that only he could see, of himself all bruised and cut as he's restrained to a chair in a dark, cold and murky room. His head hanging low along with his dark hair that hung over his face. He weakly looked up to look back at Percival, his one eye bloodshot as the other seemed to have burst blood vessels so the white of it was red. His eyes widen at the sight in the mirror and starts straining against the ropes, yelling and shouting but it all but unheard from their side.

"I love you too." He said with a taunting and sinister grin at the reflection as the other continued to violently strain against the ropes in desperation to get out and hollering. Percival's sinister smile turned gentle as he pulled away from the hug to look at (Y/n), his large hands on her hips. "How about you get ready for bed. I'll pack up my dinner and eat it for lunch tomorrow." He said as she smiled softly and nodded.

"Alright." She hummed lightly before leaning up to peck his lips and walking to their shared bedroom. Percival watched her leave before walking up to the mirror, he stuck his head through the reflection and the groans and grunts from the beat up figure in the chair is heard.

"St-Stay away from her." He growled as his glared with rage in his eyes. Percival only chuckles as he flashed him a wicked smile.

"Don't worry, Graves. I'll take good care of her." He said, "And maybe corrupt her. You stay put and watch."

"No!" The real Percival yelled as he strained once more before hissing in pain when the ropes cut at his skin from how much he's been straining against them, drawing a bit of blood, "Leave her out of this!" He snarled through clenched teeth and balling his hands into fists. The other chuckles some more, shaking his head.

"It's too late for that. Not when I'm so close to finding the dark power that lurks here in New York." He smiled as he hears (Y/n) calling for him, looking back at the enraged man, "I should be heading back."

"Wait until I get free, I'll make you pay for your crimes." He said as the imposters let out a scoff and snicker.

"I'd like to see you try. Anyway, I'll be on my way now." Percival said as he started to go back to his side of the mirror.

"Hold it! Get back here! Don't hurt her!" Percival ordered as the other left, smirking back at him before he snapped and all that was left was his own  reflection sitting there, rage bubbling inside of him, "GRINDELWALD!"

On the other side, Percival continued to smirk as the mirror's reflection turned back to normal. He walked over to his dinner that was left out for him, now gone cold as he picked it up and tossed it into the garbage. He then turned and walked into the bedroom to find (Y/n) sitting on the bed in her nightgown, writing things down in her planner. The nightgown going down to her mid thigh and he smirked while loosening his tie. Percival got rid of the tie and started unbuttoning his shirt while climbing onto the bed. "When was the last time we made love, doll?" He asked casually as she looked at him with a blush and look of surprise.

"U-Uhm, a day b-before you left for Europe." She stuttered with a blush, "Why do you ask?" He smirked as he rolled her over so she's laying on her back, he hovered over her and leaned his face down to her ear.

"I want to make up for those weeks of not giving you any attention." Percival  said huskily in her ear, giving the lobe a suggestive nip. The dark smirk gracing his lips when he felt her body shudder under him. He had her wrapped around his fingers, he was going to let his darkness consume her and no one could stop him. Not even her real fiancé that was trapped somewhere in the woods of Europe.
