I walk to the front of Happy Days and just when I was about to open the door, Johnnie's hand shot out in front of me, grabbing the door and holding it open until I walked through. I turn 'round and say, "Thank you, Johnnie." I turn around and look at him as he blushes, saying, "I, uh, it's really no problem." I turn back around and walking to the corner booth in the back waiting for the waiter and or waitress to appear. When the woman does appear she's decked out in her crop top and mini skirt with a tiny name badge tacked to her impossibly big breast. The name tag said Lillian. She looked a bit older than us, 19, maybe. "What can I get for you handsome?" She said looking directly at him. Not even addressing me. I glared at her under my eyelashes and then I looked to Johnnie, he looked really uncomfortable. "He'll have a sweet tea. I'll be having a water." I said, saving him from that flirty witch. "Are you sure there's anything I can't get for you?" I had a feeling when she said anything she meant anything. "No, there's nothing else you can get us until we order and when you go back in the kitchen please make sure to send someone new to our table. Thank you so much, hun." When I'd finished with what I was saying she finally took time out of her day to look at me. Then she had the audacity to say, "Who are you?" I gave her my icyest glare, the one I save especially for my alarm clock and other thing I hate and said, "I'm his girlfriend. And if I hear one more flirty comment drip from you abnormally large mouth then I'll make sure to tell your manager your were sexually harassing him. Thank you very much, now shoo." I wave my hand in a dismissive manner as she stands there like a gaping fish. Once she leaves I turn to Johnnie, worried he might think I'm crazy. "I'm sorry-." I was going to finish my sentence but then I saw his face wasn't one of fearful apprehensiveness, just awe. "You said you were my girlfriend." Is that why he's awed? "Well, we're on a date aren't we? I guess that means we're together if that's ok with you." I say to him, hoping for a yes, yet at the same time deathly terrified of the rejection that might be coming. "I would love that." He said to me softly. And then I noticed something. There was another waitress, her name was Beth. She definitely looked less flirty, and more motherly than the last. "What can I get you sugga's?" She addressed us both with a heavy southern accent. I turned to look at Johnnie and he looked just fine. Good. "I'd like a combo box of chicken strips with gravy and fries. And you, Eirene?" He looks over to me. "I'd like the same. Thank you." I say to the elderly waitress. As the woman walks away she looks over her shoulder and says, "No problem, hun." I turn my head and stare at Johnnie for a very long time. I notice how when he sees something peculiar he tilts his head, just slightly, to the left. I notice his freckle sitting above his full, moisturised lips. I notice how, in the light, his brown eyes are hazel and not actually brown. I notice how his hair drapes over his eyes until he can't see and pushes it away. And then I noticed something else. The waitress, Beth. With our food. "Thank you, Beth." She looked bewildered for a minute and then clarity flittered over her face, she said, "You're welcome, sweetie."
