During lunch, I was talking to Betty pretty much the whole time. Math had been fun apart from the fact that we were at different tables, though we gave each other stupid faces causing each other to laugh.

"You two seem to be having lots of fun together. Paris, I've never seen you laugh so much in your life," Kevin commented, nudging my shoulder and giving me a smirk. I looked up at him and showed him that I was confused. What does that mean, why did he smirk at me? I'm so confused...

Archie and Veronica both saw my look and then stared at Kevin, mirroring my face. "Come with me, Paris," he ordered in a soft tone and dragged me behind a tree to make sure people didn't hear us.

"What's up, Kevin?" I asked, but my voice was serious. He looked down at me and sighed.

"Do you have a crush on Betty? Because it seems like you do. But, you do know that she's like madly in love with someone else, right?" He told me, whispering the last bit and I tilted my head to look at him sideways.

"What are you talking about? We're just talking, sorry if I'm laughing at jokes and finally getting along with someone!" I half yelled at him. Me, having a crush on Betty? That's not possible. I just met her and I'm as straight as a ruler. Okay, maybe I haven't had a boyfriend or kissed anyone but that doesn't mean anything.

He held up his hand and nodded in defeat. I looked to see that he was uncomfortable and quickly apologized before we headed back to the table. When we got back, everyone was staring at us and I guessed they heard what we were talking about since we only went round a tree a few meters away. I looked down at my hands and Betty grabbed them when I sat down, causing me to look up and stare right into her eyes.

"You know I don't like you like that. I'm not interested in girls, I promise," I whispered so only she could hear me.

"I actually wouldn't care if you were gay or not, you're my friends and I'll help you through anything," she gave me a cute smile and I returned it and then slowly grabbed my hands back so I could eat.

I bit into my raspberry jam sandwich and retorted at the flavour of food. I hadn't eaten in days, and the thought of food made me sick to my stomach. Betty saw the disgusted look on my face but shrugged it off and continued to talk about the dance, which was tonight!

I don't have a tux, what am I gonna do?

On time, Archie looked at me and asked if I had a date, saying his girlfriend of two years, Beth, was his. I shook my head. "Who will you take? You could tag along with me and Veronica, but we can't really dance as a three," Betty offered, then turned to Archie. "You've had a girlfriend for two years, and you never told me?" He laughed and apologized for never mentioning it. I offered to go alone but Kevin stopped me.

"Nah, come with me. I don't currently have a boyfriend, but your new hair reminds me of the fact that I need one," he ruffled my hair while laughing at his own joke and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, fine. Only if I'm the male in the relationship," everyone now cracked up and I joined in.

Once lunch was over, we all headed to our last class and I took my seat, sat my bag down while waiting for others to arrive. I scanned the, almost empty, room and caught my breath in my throat as I caught the eye of a certain red head. I stared at her and realized that she had her headphones plugged in.

She's probably listening to some weird rap song, with a fake beat and everything. But as I listened even harder, I recognized the voice as the one and only-

"- Josie, you're here. I was wondering if I could talk to you in private," Archie interrupted the girl when she had only just entered the class, yet she still followed him into the auditorium.

The rest of the lesson flew by fast but I couldn't help but think about who Cheryl was listening to. Maybe it's a coincidence, she could've just had that on her playlist and it came on at the time I was listening. But I swear, I heard some of her other songs being played throughout the lesson.
