BRETT MARCHED TRIUMPHANTLY TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD, WHERE THE WINNERS WOULD ULTIMATELY SIT. Two well trained medical professionals came in and dragged Xavier out of sight. Not a single drop of blood disgraced the ground. Immediately, Headmaster DiCardio announced the next duel pair. "Ok, that was amazing. So, the next pair I would like to invite is...from the Literature Department, Caroline Waters and Edward Park. Everyone was silent, except one girl who whispered, "hey, I heard they're in a relationship" to the girl next to her who nodded, and replied, "yea." Alexandra looks to her side, where Caroline walked up staggeringly slow, as if she was half-drunk. If there was conflict in her heart, you could see it on her face. Edward Park walked up from the other aisle, his expression wasn't any better. Eventually, they both reach the dreaded place. They should start their warmups now. It took another long moment for them to start working out, their movements so slow, the committee seemed to be getting impatient by the seconds ticking by. The same beep goes off, but they weren't even in ready position.

"Ms. Waters and Mr. Park, would you guys like to begin?" Caroline shuttered as she gave Edward a long thoughtful glance. As if saying, please. With shaking hands Edward grabbed his sword, a lengthy Crestor 22, best for murder and walked toward Caroline. She seemed to have given up any sort of resistance and dropped her sword, which made a series of dings on the ground. Headmaster DiCardio smiled lightly as Edward charged forward. Caroline closed her eyes, but then, he made a sudden stop, and kluck... the sword pierced through him in such preciseness that it went straight through the heart. Slowly, Caroline opened her eyes as the long awaited strike did not come. Edward slowly dropped dead in front her, his facial expression none could see clearly. Caroline shook her head in disbelief, the tears too shock to come down from her eyes, her body frozen for a moment before she screamed in piercing agony. "EDWARD!" She dropped down next to his body, her hand stroking his face delicately.

"I will always love you." He whispered. Caroline nodded.
"I love you too." Edward tried to smile, his lips curved upwards, as his eyes slowly closed and his face started to lose color. "Forever." Caroline murmured in his ears before she picked up her own sword and slashed herself, in the exact same spot, fulfilling her promise—forever—.

No one reacted, no one cried or laughed. A moment of solitude filled the room. Even the committee seemed to be at lost of words to say. Perhaps no one could believe that such a pure, beautiful love story still existed. Perhaps everyone's romantic illusions ended once Lord Lucifer was inserted onto the throne. After the brief moment of silence, Headmaster DiCardio continued to announce the next pair, unmoved. Pair after pair went, student after student either died or won. The same medical staff came and went with dead bodies in their hands and a empty expression, as of numb to all the bloodshed that cursed through the veins of the battleground.

Finally, the moment came where Alexandra and July became the last ones left. Alexandra was sitting in the second row, leftmost seat, and July was sitting in the first row, rightmost seat. Headmaster DiCardio gave a excited smile, anxious to see the best sword duel of it all. He cleared his throat, "Now, finally I will announce the final pairing... First Year Alexandra Gallagher and First Year July Maisley. Applause!" Everyone clapped, but the loudness has died down, since there was only half the people from before.

"Let the battle begin." Headmaster DiCardio echoed.
