summer

i love you like a summer night.
where our breaths flow in sync with the wading tide and the whisper of the breeze in swaying trees.
i hold your tender hand in mine- rough from poorly written love letters addressed to you (they'll never make it).
our kisses melt together like sorbet on hot nights- spent sweltering and looking for some release underneath the shade.
you dip your fingers into the crevices of my skin like you jump in the salty ocean, ready to drown.
moaning in tune with the flutter of wings and chirps of early morning song birds- it goes until a sleepy July afternoon.
then i lay in bed with your nude body interwoven with mine, sweaty legs against pulsing hands. tired eyes close and we whisper out words of love and passion and eternalness.
lay your weary head upon that cool pillow- dream of me in your arms, upon your heart.
my love for you glows hotter than a blazing sun.
