angel

we feel those wings weighing upon our shoulders; bright white against soft skin. we see those halos in glorious gold resting upon fragile strands of hair. and we see those glowing gates, those everlasting, eternal gates.
and i see you, you as an angel. your soft voice verging on the edge of lavender like, wordless and glorious. the harmonies and symphonies you play against my skin, the touch of your hands like silk sheets. the way you lean down towards me with lips that taste like spring and allow the garden inside of me to grow.
i feel the daisies and poppies making their way through every crevice that is inside me. through the cracks of my lungs and out my throat. only you could make me bloom so.
your immortal soul, so tender and delicate; sometimes i feel like mine is almost too human.
too many nights spent looking at the stars and crying out for infinity, to be with you, my eternal love. too many days spent wandering in the meadows, picking flowers that will never make it to you. looking at sunsets that drip like rain over snowy mountains and wondering if somewhere, there's a new heaven for just the both of us.
i may not be an angel yet, but someday, when evenings become still and mornings become tranquil, i'll be able to touch the first pure thing i've ever touched.
