Birdflash: Choices

Chapter 3

Dick's pov
I was just wondering the streets thinking about Wally. I wish I could see him one more time.

I heard someone punching something, it sounded like a wall. I slowly peeked around the corner and saw it was a boy, he looked like he was a teenager, he was wearing a white shirt with a giant red 'S' on it.

I decided to try to walk by him, he shouldn't do anything to me, I should be good. And if he did attack me I can defend myself.

I started to walk by him when he slowly turned around and looked down at me growling. He yelled and punched me sending me across the street. "Ouch, well there goes me trying to defend myself." I said getting up, the boy was still looking at me and he seemed angry.

"You seem mad, do you want to talk about it?" I said putting one hand on the wall next to me for support. That seemed to make him more mad cause he ran towards to me, both of hands made into fists ready to beat me up. "Uh oh."

Just then another boy ran and got some weird water thing that turned into a hammer and started hitting the other boy who was mad. Then I saw a familiar face and I couldn't help but smile.

"H-hey Wally" I said as the red head came up to me with a smile on his face too. "Call me Kidflash. Since I'm a mission" Kidflash said still with a smile while , maybe his partner, was still fighting the angry boy.

"KID! I COULD USE YOUR HELP!" His partner yelled, he was on the ground and the angry boy was on top of him punching him.

"Oh right! Well I gotta go, I'll be back in a flash" Kidflash said giving me a little wink that made me blush a bit. He ran off to help his partner out with that angry boy. I kinda wanted to help but I feel like I would be of no help. I started to think if I should lend some help with him, "I'm just gonna help." I said to myself while running to the fight ready to help.

Kidflash was in the middle of being choked and his partner looks like he had one to many punches. It was all up to me to save Wally, no pressure. I got this!

I ran to pick up a couple of rocks and started to throw them at the angry dude. He turned towards me and threw Wally down and ran towards me. "Come on you chicken! Hit me your best shot!" I yelled as he was still running towards me but I was taking a baby steps back.

He tried to punch me when he finally got to me but I dodged it. He tried again but I just kept dodging, I wish I had a weapon or anything!

The angry dude finally laid a punch on me sending me flying to the building I was close to. He went to me and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt.

"That's enough!" Someone said behind the angry dude. He looked like the bat guy that punched me too, man everyone must love to punch me.

The bat guy got out a small case from his utility belt, when he opened it up green light was coming from it and the angry dude dropped me and yelled in pain. The bat guy put the case a little bit closer to his face till he passed out.

"Well, if it isn't bat guy! Oh how I missed you." I said getting up while he was putting the case away. The bat guy just gave me a weird glare, we're such good friends!

"It's Batman. What did you do to Kidflash and Aqualad." Batman said pointing to both of them who were still unconscious. I was shocked, he thought I had something to do with them being like that! I helped them!

"That was him, they saved me from him so I tried returning the favor but then you came in." I said looking down in defeat. If I had a weapon or anything then I would've been able to help.

"Well t-thank you. Are you okay? And what's your name?" Batman asked looking down at me seeming concerned.

"Y-yeah. Just some cuts bruises but I'm good. And m-my name is Dick." I said, not ready to tell him who I really am.

"Okay, but how are you going to explain that to your parents!?!" Batman asked, as soon as I heard the word 'parents' I started to tear up. I tried so hard not to cry in front of him but failed, tears were already running down my face and he noticed and put his hand on my shoulder and got down to my level.

"M-my p-parents are g-gone" I said tears still running down my face. Batman looked kinda shocked, and he pulled me in for a hug, he held me kinda tight but I didn't mind.

"I'm sorry Dick, mine did too when I was around age. Come on, help me take these two to the zeta tube and then I can fix your cuts." Batman said releasing from the hug while pointing at Kidflash and Aqualad. I nodded and went to get Kidflash while he got Aqualad.

We went to some alley and we were standing in front of a old phone booth, this must be the zeta tube he's talking about.

He went in the phone booth and typed something and it said "Recognize, Aqualad B02" and then a bright light appeared from there and i guess he teleported somewhere.

"Hand me Wally." Batman said and I gave him Wally. And the zeta tube said "Recognize, Kidflash B03" and the bright light appeared and he was gone.

"Where did they go?" I asked hoping they were okay.

"They went back to the Hall of Justice their mentors should be there." He said back finishing typing something in the zeta tube and gestured for me to go first and I did, then he did.
