Chapter Twenty-Three
Brittany Dawson
"See, this is more you," Michael says, taking my hand and making me turn.
"Everything else was also me," I laugh. "I can dress like a girl, too, you know."
"I know. I just like to tease you," he replies. "And I like this look better. It's hotter."
I roll my eyes. "Are we going out or what?"
"Yeah, let's go get Calum and Becca."
"I still can't believe he flew her out at two in morning," I say in disbelief. "They literally cannot keep their hands off of each other."
"Sounds like someone else I know." Michael winks.
"Okay, first of all, you initiated all the kisses. It's not my fault they turned into make-out sessions," I defend.
"You loved it."
"Yeah," I sheepishly agree.
It's been a week since Michael and I have become friends (don't question that label) again. Things have been going really smoothly. The tour has proven to be a lot more fun when you get along with everyone. And while I was having fun with Amanda, I needed some girl time with my main girl.
So, luckily for me (and Calum), Becca was flown out as a last minute decision early this morning. It's not like Michael and I were asleep either when she and Calum came knocking Michael's hotel door (I don't even stay in mine anymore). We were up watching Bob's Burgers (even though we already watched them all).
Today we have the day off so we're going to lunch at this restaurant Calum found on Google here in Florida. I was starved and I knew Michael was, too. We both eat our weight in food really.
"You ready?" Michael asks.
"Yeah." I nod.
I open the door and head straight across, knocking on that door. It opens a few minutes later with Becca and Calum ready on the other side.
"This place better not be sketchy, Calum," Michael warns.
"Can't be nowhere near as sketchy as the relationship you have with Brittany," Calum retorts.
Michael results to punching his best friend in the arm and scolding him. Becca and I roll our eyes and walk in front of them to the elevator.
"Calum's right, you know," she says.
"Shut up."
"Why don't you just break up with Evan?" she questions.
"I don't know," I sigh. "I want to do it in person. It'd be kind of shitty of me to do it via phone."
"That's true." She nods. "But I just don't want him to end up hurt. He is a really nice guy, Brittany."
"I know," I groan. "That's why it's so hard to break up with him. I mean, I like him, but do I like him like I like Michael?"
"Speaking of," she whispers, eyeing the boys standing in front of us in the elevator bickering.
"What?"
"I heard he dropped a certain four letter word on you."
"Shut up," I beg of her.
"I'm just curious as to if you said it back or not." Becca smirks.
"I didn't," I hiss.
"Why?" Her eyes widen in surprise.
"I don't know." I shrug. "I mean, do I?"
