Chapter Seven
Brittany Dawson
"You seriously didn't have to stop here first. You could've gone home and went to bed at least," I say as Michael followed me into my bedroom.
"I know," he says, "but I missed you."
"Sure," I chuckle. "Anyway, it's like three in the morning, so I'm going to sleep."
"Why were you still up?" Michael asks as I was turning down my cover.
My cheeks blush crimson. "I was waiting for you to text or call that you made it home safely."
"Well, I made it home just safe," he says, climbing into my bed.
I stare at him from the other side of my bed, finally giving in and climbing in as well.
"You're not home, though," I point out, reaching over and turning of my bed side lamp.
I sink down into the bed, feeling Michael's arm fall across my waist.
"You feel like home to me, B," is the last thing Michael says before he falls into a peaceful slumber.

I wake up the next morning with a weight on my stomach. I look down, finding that Michael was sleeping in an odd position with his head on my belly and his arms wrapped around my waist.
I chuckle to myself, reaching over and grabbing my phone from my night stand. As I'm pulling the Instagram tab to mindlessly scroll through, Michael begins to stir in his sleep.
"What are you doing up so early?" he grumbles, only tightening his grip on me.
I glance at the time at the top of my screen, replying, "It's almost ten-thirty."
"Early," Michael declares.
I chuckle, running my fingers through his thin, lilac strands. He hums in response, obviously enjoying the gesture.
"Did you sleep well?" I ask.
"Pretty good," he responds. "Did you?"
"Good," I answer.
"Did you have anything to today?" Michael asks, finally moving from his spot and lazily lying back down beside me (and, much to my pleasure, still kept his arm wrapped around my waist).
"No," I reply. "I have the day off actually."
"Good," he says, "because I was hoping to stay here all day and just be with you."
My cheeks flame red and Michael points this out, embarrassing me to no end. That's basically what we spent the entire day doing, too; just teasing each other endlessly and sharing facts we didn't know about the other.
All in all, it was a great day. Then again, every day is a great day with Michael. I just feared it would all end soon. And in reality, it had to end sometime.

They're just friends and I don't want to move things too fast, guys! I have quite a few chapters of this saved up that I plan to publish after editing.
And if you're wondering, I italicize some things because they're either name brand or proper nouns (i.e. Pizza Hut, Alex Ramos, Doctor Who).
Hope you're enjoying this so far!
