"Rise and shine agent. Looks like you have some work to do." A man spoke as the cryogenic pod opened for the first time in weeks. Vic was hefted out and sat in a chair. The ends of her hair dripped with the melting ice and her skin was freezing to the touch.

"What would you have me do?" Her voice was weak and her mind had collapsed. Her father was right when he told her about his experiences. They change you.

The agent smiled and gave her a file. She took it slowly and opened it. She closed her eyes and rested the file in her lap. "My father."

"He means a lot to us agent. Plus. we'd be doing you a favor. We get both of our assets back, and you're reunited with your family. We both get something out of your bringing him here."

The sixteen year old girl sat quietly as she thought the situation over. She hated it, but she'd see the one person she cared about. The only person she could call family.

After a few seconds, she gave a small nod and was able to stand on her own. "When do I leave?"

"In thirty minutes."

Victoria nodded and stood. "Permission to leave?"

"Permission granted."

Victoria walked out of the room and went into a room to change into her new uniform.

'To think that I used to be free of this place.'

She quietly changed uniforms and put the protective mask over her mouth and nose.

"Soldier! Time to move out!" A voice came from behind the door.

'Soldier.'

She sighed and opened the door. The man that had told her to leave was waiting and lead her to a large van.

After a few minutes of loading weapons, the van drove out of the base and down the road to where her former home was.

"The mission is simple. Find the target, exterminate him, come back."

She listened numbly as she looked at the gun in her hands.

'Surely this can't be happening. It has to be a dream. A nightmare. A horrible, twisted nightmare that I just can't wake up from.' She told herself.

The van had parked outside of the S.H.E.I.L.D. Headquarters and let the girl out.

"If you fail, you know the consequence. Don't think we won't hesitate to make sure you won't fail another mission."

The words echoed through her mind as she thought about what he meant. Complete memory resetting, torture, maybe even death.

Was it worth all of it just to see her father live another day?

Absolutely.

With her mind made up, she snuck into the base.

Hydra wouldn't know what hit them.
