Agents and officials alike were running throughout the base, setting up barricades to block whatever attack they might face. Steve stood on the platform above and overlooked all of the progress made.
"Steve, could I talk to you for a moment?" Vic's voice entered the busy workplace.
"Of course. What's on your mind?" He turned and smiled at the girl.
Vic stood in front of him, her face held a concerned look.
"What can I do to help you prepare for this war?"
Steve shook his head. "Nothing. You've already done everything required of you. I would appreciate it if you went to see your father though. You never know when you'll see those you love last."
Vic understood what Steve was telling her and nodded. Before she left, she walked closer to Steve and hugged him tightly.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"You said it yourself. You never know when you'll see those you love last." She smiled and walked off in search of James.
Steve smiled as she walked away to look for James. He felt horrible about what James was planning for the approaching future. He knew that his friend had made up his mind, but he knew it wasn't right."
'She'll never be the same when this is over.'
"Captain, we need another man to help us develop weapons. Our supplies are short." An agent called to the blonde
Steve sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. When this entire effort started, he was told they'd have enough to survive. He was getting ready to give his weapon specialists an earful, but came to an idea. Quickly, he made his way to Fury's office to work something out.
"Nick, we are out of supplies for weaponry. We can't fight if we don't have weapons."
"I understand that Rogers. I cant do anything about it though."
"Where is a certain weapon specialist that we can get ahold of easily?"
Nick knew exactly whom Steve was referring to and shook his head. "What makes you think he'll help?"
"Everyone's life is at stake. That includes his. He might want to have his name plastered on this event just like everything he owns." Steve said, taking his phone out of his pocket, dialing the expert's number. It rang for a few moment's before the man answered.
"Well, well, I never expected you call me in your time of need. You must be very desperate."
"Hello to you too Tony."
