The back story

A tragic backstory is not a crucial mean to make a good story.

Now we can start. Parents died, whole clan wiped, enslaved... All of these are no longer original ideas. Not anymore.

A tragic backstory can be good. If the author has everything relevant and logical. If not, it's no longer me pitying the character but me pitiying the author for the poor originality.

I understand if you're a fresh writer. Or a young one. Just keep in mind, it's not a sin to ask people for help. You read a story that is really good? Contact the author and ask questions. Or even ask for a review or help. In most cases they will offer their help. If not, then switch to another author.

A normal back story is really fine with parents alive, happy childhood and all.

The worst kind of stories are the ones who play with and misuse the idea of being bullied by parents.

Also, being bullied by a parent doesn't necessarily make you heartless or emotionless nor does it necessarily make you despise everything like around 96% of fanfictions portray.

Next point is planning your backstory. It doesn't have to be something majestic almost magical by the oc being a royalty in a fairy tale land.

Don't make it the one that is so hard I wonder how the hell is the oc still smiling and looking so carefree.

Let's move a bit. There are 9 tailed beasts. Not ten, not eleven, not twelve, not six hundred seventy-two.

And especially NOT the two tail and half, the nine tail and half...

I've had many comments stating that there are 10 tailed beasts actually. Well, yes. There are ten tailed ones. However, the Ten Tails cannot have a normal host like the other tailed beasts. Remember what happened at the war? Only after the whole nine bijuus were captured, the Ten Tails was able to come out and have a jinchuriki.

I've also heard that there's apparently a ten tails in Boruto? I haven't read or watched Boruto at all, not even a single chapter or episode, so I have no idea.

How about instead you make a jinchuriki disappear and replace yours with it. Now I'm not trying to underrate the other characters but besides the three tail, one tail and nine tail Jinchurikis, anyone is easy to replace. Why?

Because the three tails Jinchuriki after Rin killed herself became a Kage of the Mist and he was the main reason why the Mist was named the Bloody Mist during his reign.

The one Tail being Gaara, Gaara is one of the main reasons behind the Third's death. Of course he was just a distraction but enough said. You can make your oc take his place at everything except the fact that he became a Kage too and why? Because of Shukaku. You cannot remove that simply.

The nine tails being Naruto. Do I really need to explain ? He is the main character, without Kyuubi he would never achiece the same greatness.

To close this chapter, make it smooth and simple.
