Chapter 18: The Truth

Weeks later, Sarah went to Chris' house. They had a great dinner together and Sarah tried to drug Chris. But Chris was aware of Sarah's actions.

They went to Chris' house after the dinner. Chris was acting all drunk so that he could get the information he wanted. But what really happened is that, Sarah was the one who was drugged not Chris.

Ha what a turn out.

So Chris decided to join Sarah as a person who was drugged or I may say, he pretended to be drunk. He is a good actor if I am say so myself.

Chris was about to regret what he was going to do. They went to Chris' bedroom. They layered on Chris' bed. That was the only regret Chris had in him. He was putting another woman on his and Jordan's bed.

"So Sarah, what really happened with Jordan's miscarriage?" He said as Sarah sat her butt on Jordan's bed.
                 Idiot.

"Stop talking Chris, give me some." She said as she pulled Chris over.

Not knowing that the was a voice recorder under Chris' pillow. The were like 2 of them, in case the other didn't record everything.

"Well I will give you some after you tell me everything. How about that?" Chris said as he continued to say :"And I will give you 4× what you want."

That really made Sarah smile a lot. Chris could see the lust in Sarah's eyes. But he wasn't even into Sarah, but wanted to seduce her into telling him everything.

"Well I threatened Caroline and her family." She said as she smiled at Chris. "Well it was very easy to do so." She continued.

"And?" He asked.

"And I told her that if she doesn't put the pills inside Jordan's food, I will kill her family." She said as she laughed.

"Why would you do that?" Chris asked as he tried to back away from Sarah.

"Well, me and him did this for you and Jordan."

"Why would you kill an innocent child. Who wasn't even 2 months old?" Chris asked in fury.

"Because I love you Chris. And he loves Jordan. So we did this for the four of us Chris. Why would you shout at me?" She cried.

Chris tried to calm her down since she was drunk. After so!e few minutes she calmed herself and she felt comfortable in Chris' arms.

"So I paid Caroline to do the job for us." She finally spoke words after a long time of crying.

"Who is this him that you are talking about?" Chris asked.

The was silence for like 3 minutes. When Chris looked down on Sarah, she was already sleeping. Shameless woman.

He picked her up and put her in a guest room down the hall. And he was satisfied with the information he had. At least now people will believe him.

Then he called Paul to inform him that Sarah is at his house.
Paul came to fetch his wife and thanked Chris for helping her and they went home.

Chris sat on the couch all night long wondering who was the he that Sarah was talking about. He couldn't get the link. But Chris has learned crime stuff. So probably he will get the link soon.

Suddenly he fell asleep while listening to the recordings on the couch. So he just decided to crash on the couch for the night.

Door bell....

"Who could it be so early in the morning?" Chris asked himself as he was woken by the door bell.

He went to open the door and it was Caroline. She had a big smile on her face. Not realising she was in big trouble this morning.

"Good morning Mr Hamilton." She smiled.

"Oh hey Caroline." He said while he looked at her with sleepy eyes.

He fully opened the door for Caroline and went back to the couch. But he hid the recording under the couch where even Caroline won't see it. He was good at hiding stuff. Well, very important stuff, if I may say myself.

Few hours later he woke up fresh. He went upstairs to brush his teeth and took a quick shower to wash off Sarah's touches from his body. He regretted everything he did with Sarah. The touches, the holding, and also bringing Sarah home.

He then came downstairs finding Caroline cooking while listening to music. And he thought to himself that what else did Sarah want Caroline to do. Is she planning to kill Jordan? Is she planning to kidnap him? Or is she planning to destroy their lives? All these thoughts echoed in his mind as he stood in the doorway.

"So are you going to put pills in my food also?" He asked as he made his way to the kettle to make some cappuccino.

"Uh, what....what are you talking about...about Mr Hamilton?" She asked as she started to shiver a little.

"You know well about what I am talking about Ms Caroline." He said and turned to face Caroline and he was also taking a sip from his cappuccino.

Chris stood there wearing a muscle vest. His defined muscles were out in the open.

"I am so sorry sir. I really am. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to tell you but if I did then she would have killed my family." She said as she was scared of what Chris was capable of.

"Was she working alone?" He asked as his eyes started to darken. Caroline knew exactly what was gonna happen if Chris' eyes started to darken. She might as well run away while she still had a chance.

"I don't think so. Because she came up to me and threatened me and she said if I didn't do it then it was one phone call away that my family will die."

"Do you know the person?" Suddenly Chris' eyes went back to normal after he saw how scared Caroline was. He felt pity for her. If she didn't do what she did then her family would have been 6 feet under.

"No sir. She didn't mention the name of the person." She said. "I am really sorry sir, please forgive me. Please don't fire me. I love working for you sir. You are the best boss ever." She kneeled and cried in front of Chris.

"You know how much Jordan had gone through after that miscarriage? And worst of all she is no longer my fiancé, all because of you." He said as he raised his voice.

"I'm sorry Mr Hamilton. I will do anything Mr Hamilton. Please forgive me." She cried even more.

It was like she was pleading for help from a god, a muscular god.

Suddenly the front door of the kitchen opened and it was Jordan. She saw how Caroline was crying in Chris' feet. And she was concerned.

"Chris what is happening?" She asked as she left the kitchen door open. She ran to towards them.

"She will explain everything to you." Then Chris exited the kitchen with cold dark eyes returning.

And he heard sounds coming from outside and it was Jordan's family and also his family. And they all got inside finding Chris in his worse mood. They kept quiet and heard the cry coming from the kitchen.

They didn't hesitate to ask Chris because he was the most dangerous man in the world when he had dark cold eyes. No one even dared to ask any questions.

He then decided to go upstairs to cool himself down.
