Chapter 20

                                                                                           Jake's POV

'Fuck fuck fuck!' I screamed in my head. 'What was I thinking?' I argued. "He can't know about this not yet. I have to keep this hidden," I sighed and grabbed my keys. "Derrick, I'm gonna go get me a beer, do you want anything while I'm out?" I asked opening the door to the apartment. "Just a new phone case, headphones, and a new super edition of Warrior Cats please," he asked poking his head around the corner that lead to a hallway. 

I laughed shaking my head lightly then nodded as I walked out the door and to my car. "I'll meet Max then I'll get everything else on my way back," I muttered to myself as I pulled out and headed to the park where Adrain and I fought when we were younger. When I pulled up to the park Max ran up and got in the car. 

"Ok, you ready?" I asked looking at Max raising an eyebrow at him. "You still have that bad attitude you had in high school,"  he laughed putting on his seatbelt. I laughed and started the drive to the mall. "Ok, so I was thinking you could take him a moonlit carriage right past a beautiful lake," suggested Max looking through his pack for his laptop. 

"That sounds nice, but I set a limit at five grand. My mom is willing to take four grand out of her gang's bank account for the wedding and for the ring I'm getting for him wedding and engagement," I commented as I parked and we went in the mall. "You just gave me the best idea ever. Ok, first you can take him to a nice dinner at the new restaurant that just opened up, then you take can take him for a stroll around the lake, after that you can take him to a moonlit hill where it's nothing but you, him, the stars, and the moon," Max finished catching his breath.

"You are on to something Max I love it you set up the reservations and a VIP pass to that new lake in the wildlife reserve in town and I'll take care of the rest," I smiled as I handed Max a solid 35-karat gold men's ring. "How about this one for the wedding ring with Jake's one and only engraved in it?" I asked as I saw a white light then a bright white tail go around the corner. "That's perfect gold for the wedding silver for the proposal," he agreed.

I nodded in agreement and placed the order and saw the same white tail turn another corner. I again pushed it aside. I bought the engagement rings, my beer, and the things Derrick wanted before going with Max to pick up the VIP passes, the wedding rings, and the reservation order before going back home and hiding the passes, order form, and the rings. 

"Jake why the hell were you with Max all day and what is this talk about you and a wedding and why did you give Max a ring?!" Derrick yelled in my face as he snarled showing me pictures of me throughout the day with Max. 'Fuck he was following me!?' I yelled in my head. "Baby listen, it's not what it looks like," I said calmly getting ready to dodge an attack from him.

"The fuck do you mean it's not what it looks like! You were with Max! You bought him a ring while you are with me!" he screamed and slashed his claws at my face but I dodged it. "Babyboy that's not how it is," I tried to calm him down but my efforts were not enough. "You are a lying, cheating, selfish, hotheaded bastard that doesn't give a shit about me!" he shouted.

Derrick was pissed. With tears streaming his face he threw punch after punch at me aiming for my face every time. I blocked every hit he threw then I grabbed both his hands and held him still as I looked into his eyes as I forced him to look at me. "I'm not cheating on you! Everything I have done is for you! My collar says Derrick's boy for a reason. Your collar says Jake's puppy for a reason! I love you Derrick. You know that there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you," I said clearly, lovingly, and protectively.

"I just thought that you were. You were just acting so weird. I'm sorry Jake," he cried as he hugged me. I didn't say a word. I justed hugged him back and kissed his forehead. I pulled him close and tight not wanting to ever let him go. "I love you too Jake," he whispered as he nuzzled into my shoulder. "I know baby I know," I smiled lightly as I held him close to my chest. 'I will give you the best life you that have wished for a long time.' I said to myself.
