Chapter 24

                   Jake's POV

I was carrying Derrick on my back when as we walked back to the front of the preserve as he sang No One while playing on his phone. 'Who could possibly be waiting for us' I asked in my head as I walked.

"Derrick you know you are the lightest person I have ever carried, " I joked as I skipped along the path. "Hey stop it silly, " he laughed clinging onto my tighter as I took off running. Derrick let out a short surprised scream and clutched his phone in his maw as he smiled.

When I came within sight of the entrance I slowed down and Derrick hoped off my back. "I'll walk the rest of the way and you can carry me later, " he smiled kissing my cheek. I lifted him up and wrapped his legs around my waist and put his back against a tree.

"Or now, " I smirked kissing his neck lightly. He moaned lightly before pushing me away and pecking my lips. "Not now daddy not here, " he seductively whispered in my ear. A shiver ran down my back and I couldn't help but lick his sweet spot then put him down.

"Little tease, " I complained in his ear as he swayed his tail while he walked in front of me. He giggled and continued walking. 'Damn. I don't know where I will be without my ball of sunshine. Today is the perfect dad.' I thought wrapping my arm around him.

When we got to the front we saw the black wolf from before flexing his claws as he looked at his phone. "It's fine, " choked Derrick. I lightly kissed his neck to calm him down and grabbed his hand walking to the strange male.

"There you are we have to leave now, " he demanded as he saw us. "Wait hold up who are you?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the male. "That does not matter now, but we need to go now. I need to get you two to the location before she kills me, " he started to usher us to his car that was a white Mustang.

I and Derrick looked at each other. I saw Derrick take pictures of the license plate and quickly put away the phone. 'Smart idea baby' I praised in my head as I looked him. The strange male opened the door to the back seat of the car.

I walked to the door and let Derrick get in the car first then got in watching the wolf's every move. He got in the car and started the car and pulled out the parking lot. Derrick snuggled up to me and looked up to me whining with his eyes. "It's ok Derrick I won't let anyone hurt you, " I smiled as I nuzzled his cheek and he nuzzled back and nibbled my ear a little.

"I'm gonna hurt you two yea know, " he insured looking in the rear view mirror. Derrick ignored him and kept nuzzling me. I on the hand bared my teeth a little and shot him a look that says "Make the wrong move and I'll kill you, " and went back to nuzzling Derrick.

For the rest of the ride, the stranger didn't say a word until we got to this big beautiful meadow. "We're here get out the car and walk up to the meadow, " he got out the car before we could and jogged into the meadow and disappeared in the shadows.

I didn't want to go but the stars were starting to come out and i couldn't resist. I held Derricks hand as I lead him into the meadow that was on a small hill. When we got to the top my sister, mom, the stranger, Derrick's mom, and the entire Lunar Moon gang jumped out the shadows as party lights came on.

"SURPRISE!!!" they yelled. "Oh my god guys. Thanks, " I laughed. "This is the best surprise ever, " Derrick cheered as he looked around seeing everyone bringing up the gear for the party. "Let's get this party started, " yelled my mom and sister.

I told Derrick to go have a good time while I talk to my mom. He nodded and dashed off vanishing in the crowd as the music started and drinks were passed out. I grabbed myself a beer and found my mom. "Hey Jake, happy 5th anniversary, " she praised kissing my cheek. "Thanks mom but this is too much, " I laughed as I kissed her cheek and nibbled her ear a bit.

"Oh I didn't plan it your sister did, " she slurred a bit. I could tell my sister would be taking her home later. I danced a bit and drank two beers before finding my sister. The strange wolf from earlier was kissing her neck lightly. I ignored it and walked up to her. "Moon, the moon is high in the sky it's time, " she nodded, handed me an earpiece, and dashed off.

"Derrick Mason go to the top of the hill Jake wants you to stand there and wait for him everyone else you know what to do, " I heard moon over the speaker and saw everyone pack together but made a spiral path to the top of the hill. I started walking until I saw my sister nod.
"Derrick Mason I remember when I first saw you at school. You were an angel. I thought I would never get with you. But look at us now. A happy couple of 5 years with today marking the 5th. We have had our bumps in the road, but it doesn't affect the love we have for each other. But there is always a problem. My problem is I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore Derrick. I want to be more to you, " I reached the end of the path and pulled out the box as I met Derrick's teary eyes.

I start toward him. "I want to be your husband, your protector, your wall. Derrick Mason will you make me the happiest wolf in the entire universe, " I lowered onto one knee, laid my ears back, and opened the box showing the shiny silver ring. "And marry me," I finished. Derrick gasped covering his mouth then looked at me then back to the ring then back to me.

He removed his hand from his mouth and nodded gently. "Yes, Jake. I'll marry you, " I slipped the ring on his finger, stoop up, and kissed Derrick passionately as I picked him up spinning him. I put him down and held him close as I looked around the crowd and shouted. "HE SAID YES!!" everyone started cheering.

I looked into Derrick's eyes and smiled. I wiped away his tears and kissed him again. This time it was him that broke the kiss. He looked deep into my eyes and lifted his head in and howled. Everyone fell quiet as they heard his beautiful howl. I lifted my head as well and howled. Our voices mixed in perfected harmony. I swear everything stopped. Nothing else mattered. It was just me and Derrick till the end. Us against the world.

I was crying while i was writing this. So emotional chapter. If this doesn't get you in your feels you have no soul. I stayed up late to write this. I spent forever planning it.
