"Love stricken insanity is a prove of brain stimulation. The lack of insanity in love is abnormal. And I tried to protect myself from this insanity called love."

It was that silent boy’s turn to pick the name and he picked the name, “Amy”

"Jason," the class teacher - with the stereotypical look, her eyes weary yet pretty, looking at him through her thick glasses with round golden frames, handed him the container with the names of girls.

He sat in the front corner of the classroom, near the window. I wonder how he looked by then. All I can remember is he with a reading book and engrossed in his own world.

The class teacher made the students to sit in pairs of a boy and a girl.

“Jason, you need to pick out a name of a girl from this box who will be your seat-partner.”

On the Merit Board of the school, beautifully decorated were the names of those students who performed well- in academics, sports, dance and other co-curricular activities of the school.
                      "Amy
              - Awarded Scholarship for Academics"

After having topped her own school in class 10 common exam, she was given scholarship to study in the country’s most reputed school for two years.

Days passed by and when everyone in the class were so much acquainted with each other and howling; they would both be very silent in their own world, passing quick comments and answering only the questions they managed to ask one another, only occasionally once in a blue moon.

It was until the spring of the year that they exchanged more than few words for the first time. Gradually, they began to feel comfortable with each other and began to understand each-other's silence.

“Have you read this book called the ‘Old Path White Clouds- Walking in the Footsteps of the Buddha’ by Thch Nhat Nhan? It’s my favorite book. Have you read all the series of the Harry Potter?” and so on and so forth.

These were their topic of conversations most of the times.

Time flies by so fast, doesn't it? And so was it with them too, in flickers of light and twinkling of an eye, the trees have budded, flowered and were now weathering away.

Exams were over and everyone departed for home for the winter break. The mention of winter break still bring goosebumps of excitement. It's the most exciting moment especially for those who have experienced a hostel life.

Amy had not known what face-book was till then, as she went to bid her class teacher goodbye before departing, her teacher recommended her,"Amy dear, the moment you reach home, you should make a fb account and add me first."

Whenever she got time, Amy managed to chat with Jason – they discussed some questions from their Winter Home Assignment that needed to be completed for their next grade.

Jason was the first boy she could talk so freely with and perhaps we can only hope for this friendship to last for eternity.
