Her First Crush

You can't blame the gravity for falling in love, can you?

With hopes anew, everyone looked refreshed after the two months of winter break.

"Hi Amy," someone called her from behind. It was her classmate Peter.

"How have you been? Well I saw you last time in the town with your friend. Wow! You looked really great." He remarked in a joking way with the widest grin on his face.

"Oh! I think I saw you too but I couldn't wave you back as you were with many friends. And yeah, the girl I was with was my sister, we went for some shopping. Well it is nice seeing you again."

As she was doing her home-work, Peter came beside her and started talking to her,
"Let me sing to you a song and this is from my heart." He sang a song to her and looked back at his friends who were looking at him, it was some game they were playing with her. But her heart felt an itchy feeling, she had a sudden gush of nervousness streaming right from top to bottom. He teased her so much and every time he passed by her towards his seat at the back, he would always tap on her shoulder or pad on her head and run away.

From Amy's dairy:
"4th July

Dearest sister,
You always used to ask me if I had a crush of some sort and I have always said that I had never had one, but you know what I guess I have one now. I don't really know if it is the so called crush or not. But I keep thinking about him everytime. All my friends always talk good things about him and that makes me fall even more for him. I feel like crying right now for not being able to control my greedy heart, I know I am not suppose to get into all these kind of stuff but then I cannot help it but just think about him. Do you think that your sister really has a crush now? You know very well that I don't like sharing my feelings with anyone, but then keeping it to myself is killing me inside. I feel like something is really wrong with my heart, so I decided on writing it down today. I have admired him ever since a year ago. He is a back benchers, and I always see him getting absorbed in his own daydreams...I wonder what he thinks about all the time. Maybe some more beautiful girls caught his attention; and everytime I try explaining it to myself that I am not meant to be his or that we can never be together but all in failed attempt.

He shows genuine concern for me at times and like a rule meant to be followed, he would be there for anyone who needed him. Now who wouldn't fall for such person? I can't blame myself for these feelings."

She always used to sit in the front seat, no doubt she was a topper and of course short.

But whenever Amy got time, her eyes always went to the window glass in front of her in which she could see his reflection, the window glass through which she would quietly and secretly look at him and her eyes would get strained at times by looking at him continuously.

While one would find him either lost in his own day-dreams or find him with his head on his hard wooden desk and sleeping so freely.

Peter used to tease her and joke with her. He used to call out for her in the crowd in front of his gang and tell them that she was his girlfriend.

"She is my girl... you guys better watch out!" he would say laughing.

And even though she knew it was joke, yet every time he said this, it made her happy and every word he uttered made her feelings grow even more for him. At times the guy would come next to her and chat with her - these days would become the most wonderful moment for Amy. She felt really nervous whenever he was near her and her heart would beat harder than the drum.

But the guy might just have been playing with her emotions or he might be just like that with everyone perhaps.

Sometimes he acted as if he had some feelings for her and at some other moment he acted as if he was not interested.

His friends started teasing him with another girl who was a tenth grader, she was a pretty girl and even his dance partner.

"10th July
Dear Diary,
Today was a day filled with fun and excitement, especially because I got to watch him dance today, yeah I am talking about Peter. He and his group performed great dances. There was no one who could take their eyes off him and I was one among them. I look forward to more such occasions so that I would get to see him perform," Amy wrote in the diary before retiring for the day into her cozy warm blankets.

Amy had much bigger dreams to achieve that even during big shows, she would stay back at the hostel with her group of studious friends and study. But there is no doubt that she hadn't missed even a single show where the boy and his group performed. Every move he made deeply touched her heart.

"Peter, you have been selected for the National Badminton Championship this time," the School Sports Coach announced in the classroom."
Unfortunately, the great tournament coincided with the trial examination and he had to sacrifice the Badminton for his studies.

Time passed by and the beautiful moments gradually turned to the painful memories of the past.

This was truly an unusual one-sided love story... an unrequited love story of a little high school girl. For him, all those teasings were but a mere game and fun but for her, it meant a different thing.

Although she knew it was just a joke, she couldn't help but think about him. She had never felt this feeling before but she hoped it wasn't loving because she knew it would be a tug of war which she would definitely lose.

However, she somehow managed to keep it a secret from everyone - about her feelings and suppressed it as much as she could and avoided meeting his eyes whenever they met.
