15th July
Days have passed. She had been to Ahkuhc for a week spending time in the village with her loved ones. Monsoon was really a season of downpour - heavy rainfall continuously for days and weeks enough to bring landslides, floods, and roadblocks and with it came the terrible news of injuries and deaths all around the nation; especially in the southern parts.
But the biggest flood for her was not being able to hear from Jason which had ruined her heart and set landslides of tears down her cheeks.
It had really been a long time since she didn't get to meet him - for it had rained heavily and she couldn't get a proper means of transport and was stuck in the village for a week. She cursed her ill-luck and her bad fortune for things didn't go the way she had planned, she couldn't make it work the way she had dreamed up in her little brain. Maybe for once, at least this time, she hoped it would work - she believed that it would work and that she would make it work. But somehow it didn't work.
"Will it be okay for you Amy? The distance that we will share? Will, you still consider me a special friend?" he asked.
"Of course, I am totally fine with it. Five years are going to pass so fast" she managed to utter.
"Four years for my course and three years for work. I will have to earn and give it back to my in-laws. So I will be away for so many years. Will that many years be okay?" he asked her again and over again as their fingers laid interlocked.
She was confused with what he was actually trying to say, was confused about how she should react or how she was supposed to respond to him. Was he asking for a breakup?
"There will be many boys who would care for you more in the future. When handsome boys ask you out in college, don't turn them down okay?" his words were obvious and it stung her like a cold frozen needle in her warm heart.
Fighting the tears that threatened to fall, swallowing the lump that threatened to rise in her throat, forcing back the thoughts that threatened to drown her mind. What else could she say? She just placed a smile on her face and said, "It's okay."
"I will never forget you, Amy."
"I am happy I met you, Jason. Whatever moments I have shared with you over the last few weeks are the most beautiful moments of my life and you will always hold a special place in the corners of my heart for eternity. And in the end, she was meant to forget everything just like in the Midsummer nights dream.
Some people are meant to fall in love with each other but not meant to stay together.
"Unlike any beautiful movie, when destiny failed, our love story was you and me on different ends. How I wish I knew how to quit you."
It was time to bid final goodbyes to each other. For one last time in forever, they made a plan to meet eachhother before walking their separate ways again. The most important thing someone rightly said was love but when love failed, the most powerful thing was time. Time would heal everything...
