GEORGIA ANDREWS never thought the day would come where she would be getting ready for her best friend's funeral.

She sighed, looking into the mirror one last time before leaving. Her slim frame was wrapped in an expensive knee-length black dress her mom picked out for her. Although her outfit was nice, her face told another story.

Her light brown eyes seemed as they held no life inside as if she was merely a shell left behind. The redness around her eyes was less pronounced due to some concealer, but everyone could still tell she had cried for the last two weeks.

Georgia grabbed her phone from her nightstand and walked carefully downstairs in her black stilettos, leaving her house to go to her best friend's funeral. She opened the door and sat in the driver's seat of her black Audi, deciding whether or not she should go with her family or leave early to meet up with her friends instead.

The roar of her car's engine made the choice for her as she exited out of her driveway, turning left on Oak Drive and then turning right on Crestview Road to get to Rebekah's house. Rebekah lived rather close to her, only about two minutes away.

When she pulled into Rebekah's driveway, she noticed that all of her friends' cars were already there. Assuming she was late to their impromptu meeting, she hurried to the door and knocked once.

She didn't need to wait because a few seconds after she knocked, Aiden opened the door.

"Hey, Gia," Aiden said using his nickname for her, unaware he wasn't the only one who called her that and widened the door for her to come in. She stepped inside the house to have Aiden spin her around and pull her into a hug.

"I missed you. We have to really just stick together during these times," Aiden told her hugging her tightly as Georgia mentally rolled her eyes, why hadn't she broken up with him yet?

Georgia gave him a closed-lip smile and nodded before following him to Rebekah's grand living room where the rest of her friends were seated.

"Okay, now we can begin," Sadie said standing right after Georgia and Aiden sat down, "the whole police department will be at Scarlett's funeral today as well as almost the whole town of Stonewalls. Now, the police, especially Detective Pratt, will be looking at us the whole time. They want to accuse one of us or maybe more as Scarlett's killer, but we won't let that happen."

Ashley narrowed her warm, chocolate eyes at Sadie, "Why are you so hell-bent on thinking they have any evidence? It's not like any of us killed her so why are you trying so hard to act as if we're innocent?"

"Because of the police! You're all blind right now at what they're trying to do. The past two weeks they've done her autopsy and started solving her case, including looking non-stop for evidence that incriminates us. Detective Pratt is convinced we killed her based on a gut feeling and without it, he has no leads to go on," Sadie said throwing daggers with her eyes at Ashley.

"Ok, you two need to calm down. Look we're all obviously grieving, some more than others, but as long as you act normal and not as someone you're not, there is nothing the cops can say about that," Aiden said looking at the two girls.

Everyone agreed with Aiden and then Rebekah announced that it was almost the time of Scarlett's funeral. Everyone followed her out of the living room and stood in a circle in the driveway.

"Aren't we splitting up?" Julien asked her and she nodded.

"I can take three," Hunter said pointing to his old green Ford truck.

"I'll take two then," Sadie said walking over to her baby blue Volkswagen beetle.

Aiden and Ashley walked over reluctantly to Sadie leaving Julien, Rebekah, and Georgia to follow Hunter to his truck. Climbing into the passenger seat, Georgia looked over at Aiden to see him staring at her longingly.
