JULIEN REED glanced over at the shut closet door where Rebekah and Sadie were changing.
They emerged a few seconds later, both wearing all black long-sleeves, jeans, and boots. Julien was wearing a similar ensemble, a black long-sleeve, jeans, and Adidas sneakers.
"Ready to go?" Julien asked his friends, rubbing his palms against his jeans nervously.
Sadie peered inside the bag on the bed that held three flashlights. Taking the bag over her shoulder Sadie announced, "Yes, let's do this."
The three of them left Rebekah's room and walked downstairs to go to the driveway.
"We need a fast getaway car, so Julien's Porsche it is," Rebekah said as they walked into the chilly night.
The lights of all the mansions on the street were on, but everything was silent, still. There seemed to be no life in the wealthy neighborhood of Stonewalls at this fine hour of 1 am.
"Are we sure we shouldn't text the rest of the group?" Julien asked as he got into the driver's seat, Rebekah beside him and Sadie in the back.
Rebekah sighed as he started the car, "No, the more of us there are the bigger the risk of us getting seen, it's just messier that way."
"I agree, we can tell them tomorrow about what we find," Sadie added as Julien turned left on Ridge Drive.
Julien agreed with them, but he also thought they should ask the others to come. They were all in this situation together and they had to get through it together too, but Rebekah and Sadie had a point.
Hunter, Georgia, Aiden, and Ashley had spent several hours at the station, leaving some time in the afternoon. The seven met up at Aiden's house and discussed what the four of them were asked, the questions they asked, and what they told Pratt. They told the other three that Pratt said he was looking forward to talking to them, but Julien wasn't surprised. Julien knew Pratt was eager to see which story is the most convenient to use to pin that person as the killer.
As he turned left Main Street, he wondered out loud, "Should we take the gun?"
Both girls looked at him as if he were crazy but Sadie spoke first, "I'm not bringing a gun in the hospital. However, you two should definitely have it with you. Who knows what dangers you'll encounter in the woods?"
Rebekah bit her lip as they drove out of Stonewalls into the surrounding area where the hospital was.
"Fine, but I'm not holding it." She declared and that was that.
"Sades, you know what you're doing right?" Julien asked glancing at her through the rear-view mirror.
"For the thousandth time Julien, yes I do. I know that hospital inside and out thanks to daddy being a surgeon. I have a plan and we've been over it." Sadie said rolling her eyes.
"Review it one more time so J doesn't have a heart attack," Rebekah said smirking at him.
Julien shot his blonde best friend a look before focusing his attention on the other blonde behind him.
"Okay so, on weekends there are fewer night nurses especially during 1 am to 2 am. I have to get into the records, find Scarlett's autopsy and toxicology report, copy both, and make it out of there unseen." Sadie said as if that was the easiest task in the world.
Sadie adjusted the black beanie over her head and slid on black gloves, "Don't worry about security cameras. I hacked in the server so the cameras go down at 1 but they go back up at 2 so I need to be quick."
Rebekah looked over at Julien, satisfied with her plan. He felt confident about Sadie's plan too, her sleuthing and hacking skills seemed to finally be put into good use.
