The personal statement of Eliah Finch, Miss Anderson's boyfriend, suspect number four.
"Mr Finch, would I be correct in stating that you have a Codeine addiction?"
"Yes, Officer, but I swear, I've been clean for months now. Maeve and I, we were trying to beat the addiction together. Have a fresh start."
Inaudible.
"Are you aware that Miss Anderson was found with large amounts of the drug in her system."
"Maeve?"
"Yes."
"Oh."
Inaudible.
"What is that mark on your arm, Mr Finch?"
"A rash. At least I think it is. I woke up with it, next to her dead body."
"Mr Finch, that's a puncture hole. Have you -"
"No, I told you, I haven't done Codeine for three months. I gave it up for her."
Inaudible.
"Mr Finch, this is very important, what do you remember about Maeve Anderson's death?"
"The knife. I woke up holding the knife. And a bottle of tablets. Codeine. It's weird, Maeve never used tablets. She always preferred injecting it. Made her wrist itch, though."
"Thank you."
"Wait, Officer, sir?"
"Yes, Mr Finch?"
"I loved Maeve, but I think I killed her. Codeine makes me violent. It made us bad people, that's why we quit. Just - just know that I would never consciously kill her. She was the love of my life."
"You may leave, Mr Finch."
