A bit of a book

Prompt: the paramedics finished her text "i love you"

"911 what is your emergency"  the lady recited her lines in a bored tone

"I Just found a body, i- i- think there dead!" A voice stammered in a distressed voice.

"Ok what is your address?" The lady asked typing away on the computer.

"Ok and ambulance will be with you right away" she said.

"Don't hang-" she started before being interrupted by a beep.

"Up"

"Thank god your here I can't find her pulse." a man shouted to the running paramedics.

"Ok Thankyou please step back sir" a paramedic ordered kneeling down by the bleeding woman.
She had been stabbed and in her hand lay a phone.

"Can I get backup over here please" the paramedic ordered finding the ladies pulse.

There was a problem, she couldn't find it.

"We've lost her" the paramedic said noticing the blue of the ladies lips.

"She lost too much blood"

The paramedics lifted the body onto a trolley pulling a cloth over.

One paramedic lifted the smashed phone from the ground finding a message. A message that never was sent.

"I'll be with you soon honey! I just need to get home and find your birthday present, i Lov-"

The paramedic teared up and made a split decision. She typed.

"I love you" before sending the message.

"Quick we need to go" someone yelled pulling the paramedic out of her trance.

She pocketed the phone ready to hand it in to the ladies family. Or the police for that matter.
And In her heart she felt she had done the only thing she could, that wasn't saving her life.
