Time-Skip to (Y/N)'s Point Of View--This is still in the flashback :)
I pant heavily, my lungs burning as I run straight to Adrian's office, I had just finished my list and now I can finally tell him, I mean, he has to know before I leave! I'm glad I gave him the bookmark before I had to go do my work.
Tired, I slam his door open calling out in alarm, "Adrian! There's..." I began then immediately trailing off as I saw that nothing was in there, Adrian wasn't there, his stuff wasn't on the office table, the shelves were absolutely empty. His entire office was completely dim and dark.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, where is he? I ask to myself as I look around his office as his things aren't even there, then I calm down a little as I figured that he maybe just simply transferred offices. That has to be it, he wouldn't leave or worse than that,
Deserting.
After a while I then decided to go to my upperclassman, Gerry in order to confirm my suspicions.
I step in front of his office and gently knock on his door, after a few seconds of waiting I heard a monotonous voice say through the door, "Come in," I come in and there he was, just simply sitting on his chair doing a bucket load of paperwork.
"Good evening to you Gerry, there is something I have to confirm to you," I began, walking towards the desk, he glances up and puts down his pen as he sighs deeply.
"What is it that needs to be confirmed Ms. (Y/N), and you better make this quick because I am not a very big fan of overtime." He coldly stated as his eyes narrowed at my sudden presence, which made me wince a little. I hate it when he does that, which is all the time.
"It's about Adrian-" I continue and at the mention of his name the austere man cut you off, "You mean Mr. Crevan right? Oh I believe that chap deserted himself just a few hours ago, you won't be seeing him any longer in this facility," He says, dismissively waving his hand.
My eyes widened at this, "He...deserted?" I ask, "Why yes, I don't need to say it again now do I?" He bitterly asked, his eyebrow twitching ever-so-slightly; I gulp and look down, "No sir."
"Why are you so surprised Ms. (Y/N)? He didn't tell you?" He asked with an arched eyebrow, I know he doesn't care about something as petty such as emotions and relationships but nonetheless I answered truthfully.
"He told me nothing of the sort sir," I explain, looking directly at him with perplexed eyes.
"Aren't you two good friends? If he should tell anyone first, it would be you no?" He asked further, now I know what he's trying to do. He's trying to get a reaction out of me, well not today satan!
"I..." I began, trying to figure out how to not insult his entire being then and there,"I suppose..."I trail off, however he has a point, why didn't he tell me? How long has he been thinking about deserting himself?
Just...why?! Gerry then snaps me out of my jumbled thoughts with his oh-so boring tone of voice,
"Now (Y/N), best you be going now. The boat is leaving in a few hours and you wouldn't want to miss it now do you?" He paused, leaning his chin on his palm like the conceited little shit he is, "After all, you are transferring to the Germany Reaper Dispatch," He finished with a smug grin.
I sigh deeply at the painful reminder. That's right, I am going to be transferred to Germany as I was told by my superiors; yes it was merely but a temporary transfer although temporary is quite a long long while for us reapers after all, we do live forever.
However engulfed with so many bloody emotions, I nod politely as I give a subtle bow, "Of course sir, good evening to you," I say and quietly walk out of his office. I shut the door behind me and I shake my head, I then bring a gloved-hand to my lips and gasp as I came to quite a shocking conclusion,
I wasn't smiling, hell I can't even bring the smile back on my face even if I tried.
Eyebrows furrowed and eyes wide I slowly trudge to my office and get all my things, grunting to myself a little because the weight of all my items.
Then sooner or later, I was already on a small boat traveling to Germany along with a few other reapers, some I'm not so familiar with and some who I've seen in hallway from time to time.
As the boat starts to take its leave I took one last glance at the London Reaper Dispatch building, I then feel a sad smile creep up my lips.
'I was supposed to leave, but it seems to me that you left me first,'
I thought as I chuckle to myself in melancholic manner, shaking my head in disbelief, making some of the reapers surrounding me stare at me with either curiosity or in perplexity.
'I guess we're both at fault.'
And at that, you never saw each other again.
