Praise for "The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones" by @keyframed

Have you had a friend who challenged you to check off every single item on your bucket list? In this delightful book, Ethan makes a friend who does just that - as well as make the bucket list!

Set in the summer of 1955, this charming coming-of-age story explores racism through the eyes of its young half-white, half-black protagonist, Ethan, who befriends the youthful and free-spirited Juniper Jones.

Ethan has been exiled to Ellison, Alabama for the summer. Juniper takes to Ethan on sight, and decides to include him in her adventures all over town as a way to show him how great Ellison is compared to his beloved — and colorblind — hometown of Washington, DC.

The author skilfully takes us along with Ethan as he battles his own inner demons over his actions that earned him exile, his rising feelings for Juniper, as well as the outer demons in the form of the town racists who don't take kindly to Ethan's dark skin.

Ethan is one of those characters you think about long after reading the last word, and you wish him well.

Rich in character and plot, this book is worth every turn of the page. When the racists take step to drive him out of town, Ethan must face his hardest challenges yet.
