Before you left

chapter two

(a/n: I changed the baby's name from Eliza to Avery. I decided that the kids should all have the same first letter in their names; Aurora and Avery)

*same day, dinner time*

"Aurora. Time for dinner." Clarke says as she closes the front door after paying the delivery man for dinner

"Pizza!" Aurora says as she runs down the stairs

"Go wash your hands first." Clarke says and Aurora runs to the bathroom to wash her hands. Within seconds she runs into the kitchen and onto the stools to sit at the kitchen island

"Aurora, go tell Daddy that dinner is here." Clarke says to Finn as she puts the box of pizza on the counter

"okay mommy." Aurora says before she carefully gets off the stool and runs out of the kitchen and to the garage

"What kind did you get?" Aurora asks when she walks back into the kitchen and sits on a stool to the kitchen island, since the kitchen table was not built again yet

"Your favorite." Clarke says with a smile as she opens the pizza box and shows Aurora the pepperoni pizza

"Yes!" Aurora says loudly with a smile

"You haven't gotten us pizza in months." Aurora says with a smile

"Auri, we just had pizza last week." Finn says with a little laugh as he walks into the room as Clarke puts 3 plates on the counter and putting a slice of pizza on each plate and giving a plate to Aurora and Finn

(Auri is pronounced Are-"e")

"What's for dinner tommorow mommy?" Aurora asks as she eats her pizza.

"We're going to your Aunt Octavia's house for dinner." Clarke says as she starts to eat her food

"And you're going to meet all of your mommy and I's friends from when we used to live here." Finn says as he leans against the counter and eats his food too. Clarke see's that Aurora has a look on her face as she looks down, but Clarke doesn't know what it is

"What's wrong Auri?" Clarke asks when she see's a sad look on Aurora's face as she looks down

"Can I ask you a question?" Aurora asks as she looks up with a nervous look on her face

"You can ask me anything Aurora. What's wrong?" Clarke asks as she outs her food down on her plate and wipes her hands on a napkin

"I found a picture with Aunt Octavia and you in it, but you guys looked younger. And then there was someone else in the photo. There was a man with dark curly hair like me, except my hair is blonde. Mommy, who is he?" Aurora asks Clarke while still eating. Clarke looks at Finn with a distressed look. Clarke wasn't ready to tell Aurora about who her real father was

"I didn't think I was going to have to tell her this soon." Clarke says quietly to Finn as she tries to find the right words to say

"Mommy, who is he?" Aurora asks again as she takes another bite of her food

"The man in the photo is your biological father." Clarke says after taking a deep breath

"Why isn't he here then?" Aurora asks as she puts her food down

"You want the truth and nothing, but the truth don't you?" Clarke says standing up straight

"Yes please." Aurora says polietly
