Mason, being logical as he is, contacts Scott, who is immediately on the same page as I am. I join the two in asking around for Liam.

“Let me know if you see him,” Scott tells Mason, who nods hesitantly and walks off. I’m glad the latter hasn’t considered calling the police yet.

Once Mason is out of earshot I hiss, “Liam’s in big trouble, isn’t he?”

“I hope not,” he replies, we travel together around the corner. He suddenly stops in his tracks, looking down at his phone.

“One sec, I don’t think you should hear this,” he mutters and jogs off down the hall.

“What?!” I cry. “He’s not dead is he? Scott?!”

He comes back into view, fear set deep in eyes, “it’s Garrett. He has Liam. He-- We need Deaton.”

“Deaton? As in the local vet?”

“Good, so you know where he is.”

“Yeah, of course I know where the vet is, but--”

“Go tell him everything.”

“Okay,” I start to turn away then pause. “But what after that?”

“Stay there.”

“What? No! I want to help!”

Scott shakes his head, “Garrett told me to come alone. Plus, Deaton probably still needs help with Brett.”

So that’s where they took him.

“..fine,” I huff. “But please make sure you’re not walking into a trap.”

“Looks like I don’t have a choice.”

“And don’t let Liam die.”

“... I won’t.”

I have one foot in Deaton’s door when I realize that I just completely left school property in the middle of the day. Well, too late now.

“How can I help you?” A man, presumably Deaton, calls as he steps in from a back room.

“Are you Deaton?”

“I am. Is there a problem--?”

“Scott sent me. Liam’s missing and we think Garrett took him.”

“So you must be Sunny,” he asks and I nod in confirmation. He frowns, deep in thought, “come into the back room and tell me all you know.”

He listens in solemnity as I relay the information Scott told me. He leads me off of the main hallway and into a hidden room where no animals are being held.

Well, no animals if you don’t count werewolves.

Wait, are they considered animals? I'll have to ask Scott about that one.
