Chapter 6

The meeting two days ago had ended well despite the fact that Annabella had felt like punching Jake for being so handsome and breaking her heart.

Seeing him had confirmed how much she missed him, and if she cared to be honest a little with herself,she felt happy seeing him,She could still remember the tingles that she had felt when he looked at her appreciatively and when he had held her outstretched palm for a shake.

Annabella had come to realize that Jake was a good businessman,he knew his work and he had good workers working at his company.She had also come to realize that he still felt regret for what he did five years ago,she sure had seen it in his eyes apart from the other things she thought she saw in his eyes.She knew she could trust him with work, but definitely not her heart,she had learned her lesson,and she always learnt once.

Now walking along the ranch, Annabella was greeted by the cowboys feeding the horses.She had always loved being on the ranch because of the way it made her feel working on the horses, watching the horses feed and the sound of their neighing

Giving a pat to every horse she came across,she spotted sir Eric at the center of the ranch feeding two Arabian Stallions,one which was hers.Smiling,she walked towards him,"Good afternoon Sir Eric"

Turning his head,he smiled at the sight of his beautiful mistress,"good afternoon to you too my dear, how are you?"

"Okay",she replied with a shrug,"except that Issabella is practically being so dull with the boring book she tends to read,so I decided to come down to the only place that gives me so much fun,the ranch",she said smiling.

Laughing, Eric replied,"you both are identical but have different Passions, that I've come to realize a long time ago, since you both were kids, what was the song I gave you guys?",he asked as his blue eyes twinkled.

Feeding her white stallion called Royal herself,she sang aloud,"Issa...bella loves books just as she loves singing..."

Grinning with pleasure now,he joined in,"While Anna...bella loves horses just as she loves dancing, oh my, oh my ohhh".

Laughing hard,they both earned a few amused looks from the ranch hands working close to them.

Turning back to Annabella,he asked seriously,"so about the meeting with Mr Jake, how did it go?"

Her face flustering,she turned back to feeding Royal, rubbing his mane,as she tried being calmed."it went well,he's a good businessman who knows what he's doing'.

"Am happy you are satisfied with him and his company's work",sir Eric replied smiling as he continued feeding the horse."I knew you would like him when you meet him, just the way I liked him too.He's a businessman through and through".

"Sure, everyone likes him, with his looks and charming smile,who wouldn't?"Annabella thought with a frown.

"We also discussed about the supplies we need for the ranch,he promised to call you to confirm the exact things needed,has he?", Annabella asked.

"Sure he has,we should be expecting the delivery tomorrow".

Asking the question she feared would be a yes,she asked nevertheless,"does he follow his workers to make delivery".

"Well, not all the time, but he assured me he would be coming along tomorrow",Sir Eric replied smiling.

Feeling nervous and excited at the thought of seeing him tomorrow,she continued feeding the horse as she rubbed it's mane again, wondering what exactly was wrong with her.
