Chapter 12

As Jake came nearer towards them;walking like an arrogant god, Annabella's heart beat drummed faster with unease and excitement as she looked at him appreciatively.His coal black hair which was ruffled like always contrasted beautifully with his tanned handsome face.The grey t-shirt he wore which accentuated his large masculine chest fitted perfectly with the blue jeans he wore.Smiling charmingly as he came nearer with his  dark eyes gleaming excitedly,Annabella knew he was a beauty to behold.

Sighting Jake,the children left the table and ran towards him chanting his name happily as he gave them a hug."Whoa!,you kids are really growing everyday,i almost tumbled over like a plate",he said smiling as he patted their hair playfully.

"Oh Jake,we all know you can't fall from just a hug from two kids,you are as strong as a horse", Issabella said smiling as she rose up to give him a hug,"how are you dude?"

"Ok Bella,and you?"

"Doing good too,what a surprise visit you gave us today", Issabella replied smiling as she took her seat.

After greeting Sally and sir Eric who were equally happy to see him,he turned towards Annabella who looked uneasy seeing him,"hi Anna,how are you?"

"Am fine Jake,what a surprise!,we weren't expecting you at all today",she said coolly as she looked at him like a puzzle.

"Yeah, actually came to check up on you",he replied truthfully looking at her with concern."sir Eric told me you haven't been feeling too well lately, how are you doing now?"

"So much for faking to be ill", Annabella thought nervously, hoping he would take her answer as she gave it."Yeah,I was ill but now i'm fine",she replied looking at him."Thanks for your concern".

"How's Charlotte and her flower business going?", Sally asked him  as she took a bite of her food.

"Mom is a doing well and her business is thriving well, she's been complaining how long you both have seen each other lately".

"Yeah, it's been awhile since we all meet.Actually, since the twins arrived we haven't all come together to meet as we used to",Sir Eric replied thoughtfully.

"Yeah,like the good old days.How is Jane doing over at London", Sally asked.

"She's doing ok Sally",he replied as he turned towards the twins."She's excited to know you both are back to Sunrise town".

"Yeah,when will she finish her study over there,I've truly missed her". Issabella said smiling.

"Very soon,I guess.She's almost done with this semester,so she should be home soon".

"Well,I really want to see her because I've missed her too". Annabella said smiling for the first time since Jake arrived.

Checking his wrist watch,sir Eric stood up,"I guess we have to go now, tomorrow will be hectic at the ranch".

"Yeah", Sally said nodding her head as she rose from her chair too, calling the kids over."Thanks for the lunch girls"

Standing up also, Annabella and her sister hugged sir Eric and his family good bye."There's no need to thank us,we are the ones who are grateful for coming over to spend a great time with us", Annabella said smiling.

After sir Eric and the family left, Isabella stood up from her chair also,"I'll be heading inside now, want to catch a nap sis.Bye Jake,say hello to your mom for me".

"Ok,will do exactly that",he said to her hugging her,as she turned towards the house leaving him and Annabella alone.

"Well,i will also be heading inside now,got some things i need to do", Annabella said nervously as she made to turn towards the house."Good bye".

Turning her around gently, Jake stopped her from moving further as he brought her closer to him."But i don't want you to leave please,I need to talk to you Anna",his dark eyes pleading to her.

Maybe thinking about him these past few weeks or her missing him terribly even if she had done a good job avoiding him,or maybe the fact that ever since his arrival,the kiss they had shared the last time brought so many sensations from her including wanting another kiss from him made her say these words to him;"kiss me please Jake",she croaked hoarsely looking at him with her own blue eyes pleading.
