Chapter: 7

Kai pov

I lay down on my bunk in a star-fish position waiting for the memory to wash over. Several hours flew past before I decided to head back to the shatterdome. Once I had packed everything up again I headed for the door.

I opened the wooden door and saw a battle between a Jaeger, Saber Athena, and a Kaiju. I jumped back at the sudden sight. The Kaiju swatted Saber Athena's blade out of her hand and it flew towards the camp.

I ran to it's trajectory impact sight and built a shield of water to slow it down. Percy ran up beside me and added some more water.

"Need some help?" He said with a cheesy smile. The saber passed through the camps barrier and hit our water shield. The force of the impact pushed us back along the ground a bit.

With a claw to the head Saber Athena went down. Worry flashed across my face and I ran to the fallen Jaeger. Percy yelled for me to stop but I didn't listen. I made my way for the cockpit and jumped inside.

One of the rangers had a cut running down their hip. I quickly discovered them as Ryoichi Hatayama. Fear flashed across their eyes as the Kaiju came in for another attack. I gathered some water to make a blockade to slow it down.

"I'm Kai Treaty, and I'm here to help. Ryoichi detach and get outa here! I'll take your spot and help Renata blast this Kaiju to hell!" I yelled over the Kaiju's roar.

Once Ryoichi had escaped I grabbed a helmet and prepared for the neural handshake. My memories mixed together with Renata's like ingediants in a blender.

During the painful experience I had to keep the blockade up long enough to get the Jaeger up and running. "Neural bridge formed! Rebooting system's now!" I said.

We got up and grabbed the saber from the centre of camp. My blockade broke and the Kaiju charged towards us. We swung the blade and cut it's hip letting the Kaiju blue run down it's side.

It reared back in pain and we plunged the saber through the bottom of it's chin, cutting through it's primary brain. The blade slid out of it's skull and cut open it's chest. We punched it's chest and crushed the secondary brain to make sure it was dead.

We stepped back from the carcass and let out a sigh. "Good job kid. What did you say your name was again?" Renata asked getting us patched through to hq.

"Kai, Kai Treaty" I said scanning for Ryoichi. The comms crackled to life in our ears. The transmission was fuzzy for a bit but once I rebooted the comms system we got the message.

"Saber Athena report" my mother said over the speaker. I sighed and responded with, "The Kaiju has been taken care of. Returning to base now. Prepare a chopper for Ryoichi."

I feel the shock coming from my mother once she heard my voice. We grabbed the saber's and sheathed them before heading to hq.

A smile crept upon my lips as we entered the ocean.
