Elha's POV
I stood before this huge building. My heart filled with pride. I was not supposed to feel like it. But i still did. I was amazed to see how much he has achieved in these 5 years. I still remembered that guy i was married to. He had a small job. H earned just enough for our small family. His parents were rich, but never gave him a single penny. He was a hard worker. I knew one day, he would shine. Annd today, he is shining.
I was also not the same 19 year old, who had just finished high school. I am a 24 year old, graduate, independent woman. I have a job. I earn just enough. Not successful like him. But i have the dignity to held my head high in front of everyone. I look more than i actually am. That is what my job is. To really get people in to my words. Since childhood, i was good at commutation. And now that's what i do for living. I am a communication officer.
I walked towards the receptionist, she gave me a warm smile and i retuned.
"I have an appointment with, Mr. Ayaz Rahman." I said.
"And you are?" The receptionist trailed.
"Elha Ahmed. I came from Jonath Lauren Company." I said. The receptionist checked the computer.
"Yes, ma'am. You are to go to the 9th floor. There you'll find Mr. Ayaz Rahman's table. He is the IR head of this company. Your job is with him." sais the receptionist robotically. I thanked her and made my way towards the elevator.
i closed my eyes, memorizing my lines. My heart was beating really fast. I could feel sweat drops on my forehead. My lips were trembling. My palms were sweaty. I wiped my hands on my pants. Then the elevator reached the floor. I got out of it.
I felt like my legs are gonna give in. Thankfully it didn't. Slowly walked towards the direction. Anpther girl was sitting there, i assumed his assistant.
"Hello, Ma'am. Sir is waiting for you." The girl smiled.
" I wish we would have. " i mumbled the double meaning.
"Did you say something, Ma'am?" Said the girl .
"No, thanks." I smiled weakly and made my way towards the door. I have never been in his office . Even when we were married i didn't know where was his office. I knocked the door. And the very familiar husky voice called.
"Come in!" I gulped my salvia and twisted the door knob . Immediately my nose filled a very musky clonge smell. As i made my way way in properly. I saw the face.
Thhe professional fake smile flew out from his place replacing a shocked gaze. He has gotten hotter by the age. He looked rich now. He is no longer the normal looking rich boy i was married to. His hair has gotten long. It was styled properly. His face looked tough. He has grown his beard too. Just a bit. But it was suiting him. Those cold blue eyes were still the same. He has gained weight. In a good way. He looked well built. Evven in his suit the muscles were screaming to come out.
He no longer look like the handsome hot youth i was married to. He looked more like a steaming hot, gorgeous man.
It was not a movie, it was real life. We did advert our gaze, but i cleared my throat. He looked like he was dragged back to reality. I gulped again then tried hard to form a professional smile on my stif cheek.
"Good Afternoon, Mr. Rahman. " i said surprisingly calmly and professionally. I bet i saw him gulp as well. He cleared his throat and shook his head.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Ahmed. Please have a seat. " He said as he got up offering me a seat. I walked to the chair and sat down.
"Thanks." I said as i paced the papers on the table. Ayaz was still standing as if he forgor what to do.
" Mr. Rahman. We don't have the whole day for this meeting. " i said coldly. Ayaz again cleared his throat. Annd sat down on his chair.
"Yeah, so...um....the meeting." Ayaz said nervously. I could see he was looking uncomfortable. If he acts like this, we will not be able to discuss why i am really here for. Annd can't risk my job. I took e deep breath and looked straight into the cold blue eyes, once i fell in love with.
"Look, Ayaz. Don't act so immature. Get over now, i have been here for past 10 mins. I know you are shocked to see me, so am I. But please let's deal it professionally." I said coldly . Ayaz nodded as if he felt ease.
"As you have talked to my head. I am here to deliver this files. We would like to mention some facts before we officially seal the deal. So we have created a draft copy of actual contract. We hope that you'll have a look at it and if you want any changes, just write it down, in our next meeting we will discuss about it. Also there is a meeting with e investors in this Friday." I said professionally . Ayaz noddee.
"How much time dp we have before we actually seal the deal?" said Ayaz.
" that's what i am unaware of. You can contact with the head of our department. " i said confidently.
"Okay then." nodded Ayaz. I pulled the papers and opened the knot.
" there is the draft contract. I advise you to contact with you lawyer before you finalize. As there are some legal term, we are unaware of. " i said poiting at the paper.
"And there is the list of topics which are gomna be discussed in the meeting. If you want to add on something, you can.". I said. Ayaz nodded again.
"I'll inform the boss." Ayaz said looking at the papers.
" they could have just mailed it. " Ayaz said without looking at me.
"Yes, sir. They could have. But these papers are important papers. As for if the media knows before hand, it would turn out to be the biggest disaster of all time." I said seriously . Ayaz nodded again.
"I'll take my leavd then, Mr Rahman." I said as i got up. Ayaz looked up and almost looked like i don't know what.
" please have some drink. " Ayaz asked half heartedly. Just like the way he asked me not tell his parents about the divorce too soon. He wanted to finish it as soon as possible. Just like now, he wants !e out of his officd.
"No thanks." I said rather rudely.
" good bye. " i said as i nodded.
"Good bye." Ayaz nodded and i made my way out of his cabin. I don't kniw why, but years of anger started to boil me. My anger towards him. For leaving me. For not caring. For not putting any effort. For not looking at me, ever.
i hurriedly got out of the building and drove my car. He made my life miserable. But i can't even blame him. He was as forced as i was. I wish our parents never have been friends. I wish we would have never met.
it was agaim haunting me. Those accusations of people. How i failed to hold onto a marriage. I was only a 19 year teen ager! What did they expect from me? My parents wanted the best for me. But it turned out to be the worst. I was neve looked at as a normal college girl. I was the girl who gor divorced.
Since then, I worked hard to be what i am today. I am proud.
