Curious green eyes trailed across the room. She had studied it for hours trying to find a way to escape, the only way out however, was being guarded by a mopey, grumpy teacher who was glaring at her from across the room.
It was THE day how could he trap her in this dark and desolate room when she needed to be at the station in 5 minutes.
She began to distract herself, twisting her long chocolate hair in between her fingers as she vaguely listened to the old man seated in front of her. The old man realized this and chuckled at how impatient she had become.
He knew what day it was and how special it was to the young girl.
It was finally time for her to start her first year at Hogwarts.

"Ellie be patient. The sooner we finish this the sooner you can go." Dumbledore stated in his wise, airy voice. Ellie sighed before turning her attention directly to the headmaster seated in front of her.
"Now remember it is not a curse so don't treat it like it is." He explained carefully making sure she was still listening.
"We will still hold our meetings every Saturday morning and Thursday night after dinner and if you have any issues contact me immediately. Especially if she speaks with you." He added in with a hint of seriousness.
Ellie overexcitedly nodded her head showing she knew exactly what he was talking about. The head master chuckled before declaring that she could go and bidding her a final goodbye until that night.
Elizabeth Gray was an energetic child and didn't need a second before she was bolting out the door, shoving Snape aside and throwing a quick 'thank you' over her shoulder as she left.

This was it.
This was the moment her life would change for the better.
She had finally arrived at the station with a quick 'crack' and met with Remus before going through the wall. Her adventurous side began to show as she courageously rushed through the barrier, instantly becoming disorientated as she made it through to the other side.
'Be clam Ellie' she thought to herself as she patiently waited for Remus to make it across. Elizabeth was quite a calm child but when she got overexcited she became a 5-year-old high on sugar.
After what seemed like forever, but was actually less than five seconds, Remus appeared, and Ellie turned to him a bright smile mirrored on both their faces.
"Are you ready?" He questioned in an amused tone. Ellie immediately answered with a too fast to understand "totallyabsolutelyyesyesyesyes!" Causing them to both chuckle.
She pushed her hair out of her face and readjusted her glasses on her face. Usually Ellie would wear contacts, but as of late she couldn't be bothered to deal with that pain of trying to precisely place a lens into the center of her eye whilst poking herself in the eye multiple times.
Remus turned to his daughter a sneaky grin "You best be off then." Ellie replied with a quick nod, hugging her dad before running off with her trunk and zoo of animals.
"Goodbye dad love you" Ellie called as she raced forward quickly getting onto the train.
As she started walking forward the train puffed off unexpectedly causing the same petite blonde girl to go tumbling into Ellie. They fell on the ground with a thud before the blonde got up apologizing profusely whilst offering her hand to Ellie "I am SOOO sorry" she panicked.
"It's fine really." Ellie assured the girl "I'm Ellie" she introduced herself holding out her hand "Nice to meet you Ellie I'm Heidi" the girl Ellie now knew as Heidi introduced herself.
She was a small girl with pretty blonde hair that was tied neatly into a side braid which portrayed her as a nice, quiet or shy which Ellie quickly learned was certainly not true.
They unexpectedly found an empty compartment at the end of the train and whilst they were the last on it seemed everyone was at the other end. As they sat down Elly soon realized that Heidi was not as shy or quiet as she seemed and as soon as they sat down she became quite loud, over dramatic but very loyal and quite violent as she started talking about murdering her brother who was 4 years younger than her.
As they were talking Elly started to wonder where Cedric was, but her answer was soon solved when him and two others entered, asking permission to sit with them as the other compartments were full. The other two introduced themselves as the one with glasses and short but subtle curly black hair being Leona and the boy with dark skin, matching dark brown hair and a scrawny build being Hayden
During the train ride they soon all became friends joking and laughing together as if they had been friends since kindergarten and Ellie soon figured out their traits and which house they would be in. Whilst Heidi was funny, over dramatic, loyal and violent, Leona was the opposite being quite shy, quiet and a bookworm, shown by her bag full of her 'light' reading books that were 2000 chapters Long.
Cedric was brave, kind and selfless and everyone loved him. Hayden was a lot more like Leona and very smart but tended to overthink things, which Ellie could solemnly relate to, but always thought ahead for example he had already started preparing and studying for O.W.L.S.
After finally arriving at Hogsmeade, the group made their way to the edge of the lake. "What house do you think you'll get Ellie" Cedric questioned as they all squeezed onto the same boat, "well I think that I will be in Hufflepuff" Ellie announced feeling a tug in her stomach and a connection to the house.
"I'm gonna be in Gryffindor" Heidi declared before turning to see Ellie and Hayden laughing "Ok so I won't be in Gryffindor what do you think I'll be in Ellie?" Heidi questioned inquisitively. Ellie began to feel the familiar tug as a feeling erupted through her body drawing her towards each house.
"hmmmm well let's see, I think you, me and Cedric will be sorted into Hufflepuff and Leona and Hayden will be sorted into Ravenclaw" Ellie predicted "Ok Ellie well I'll bet you 2 galleons and a sickle that Cedric and Heidi will get Gryffindor, Leona and You will get Ravenclaw and I will get Hufflepuff." Hayden declared holding out his hand "You're on" Ellie shot back shaking his hand.
Ellie noticed the glazed look in Heidi's eyes and confusion was painted over the brunettes face. "What are you staring at Heidi?" She questioned her new friend.
"Oh nothing just a hot guy sitting in that boat over there. I better be put in his house." The blonde blurted out whilst wiggling her eyebrows.
Ellie sighed and giggled before returning her eyes to the school as it grew.
As they neared the castle Ellie felt the wind knocked out of her as she stared in awe at the glorious fortress standing in front of her. It was an old-fashioned castle with pointed rooves and Hogwarts banners hung from the window. There was a homely feel about the old castle with the warm glow emitted from the windows.
Finally, as they arrived at the dining hall they were greeted by one of Ellie's favorite professors and were each sat on the stool with the sorting hat placed on their head one by one the hat announced their houses.
Cedric- "HUFFLEPUFF"
Elly - "HUFFLEPUFF"
Hayden - "RAVENCLAW"
Heidi - "HUFFLEPUFF" (much to her grateful surprise so did the 'hot' guy she had seen earlier and with a little persuasion and threatening the hat had desperately agreed to allow her to be put in hufflepuff, whether she belonged or not)
Leona - "RAVENCLAW"
After the delicious dinner, which Ellie had to say was one of the best meals she had ever eaten, they all met to say goodnight and to see Hayden pay up. They all began to laugh as Hayden unwillingly handed her the galleons and Ellie placed them into her pockets.
That night Ellie went to sleep with a smile on her face. Pretty good day she thought to herself before giving in to the dark and falling asleep with the help of her tea.
