“You're in a contract?” I ask again, just to be sure. Harry nods slowly.
Great.
Just great.
“Then you have to go back, right?” I ask him. He sighs.
“It's not that simple” he says. “Do you know how much trouble I'll be in if I go back?”
“Why won't you go back?” I ask. Harry's eyes meet mine.
“Because Louis' got to learn that he can't do whatever the hell he wants an get away with it!” he explodes. “He's got to learn that things have consequences!”
“Maybe he has” I say. “Maybe he feels really awful. You don't know.”
Harry stands up suddenly.
“I don't know what the hell you want!” he shouts. “But I'm starting to think you're not worth it.” And then he turns around and walks out of the shop.
Well.
That didn't go as well as I had hoped.

Liam
“Hey, Liam” says the man in front of me. “I'm Paul Higgins. I'm a friend of your Uncle's.” I look him over. He's a little bit taller then me, not very imposing at all. He seems like a nice guy.
“Hi” I say softly.
“Do you have anything, or . . .?” he asks, glancing at the doctor. He shakes his head.
“This is it” he says. I shove a hand in my jacket pocket, and feel the corner of the torn magazine cover. I managed to get it back from the nurse, and I'm taking it with me. Maybe I can remember how I know Harry.
“Erm, well, 'bye” I say to the doctor. He smiles warmly at me.
“Bye, Liam” he says kindly. And then Paul starts walking away, to the parking lot, and I follow him. We end up by a big van, that's more then a little sketchy-looking, though it's not white.
“You're not kidnapping me, are you?” I ask Paul warily, glancing at the van. He laughs.
“Liam, the hospital wouldn't have let you go if I was a kidnapper” he says, pulling open the door to the van. I'm about to step in, when my head explodes into fiery pain.
I faintly hear myself gasp, feel myself fall to the ground, hear Paul come over to me. And then I see something, through the haze of pain.
