I do not deserve someone as passionate as Sally Face. He would be better off with a much more civilized male. I still act like a child, yet my aggression is twenty years older than I. Sal, on the other hand, makes me feel like myself. He calms me down whenever I am blown over. He is a very down-to-earth soul with a tender heart. He is broken on the outside and inside. I wish I could heal all his pain. Fuck, my pen is running out'

I looked down at the page and began scribbling in the corner to bring my pen back to life. Sadly, it didn't work. I angrily threw my pen down on the tiled floor and cursed at it. My back slammed against the stall wall as my eyes began watering up. It was true; I didn't deserve such a sweet soul like Sal. Maybe the torment from my father is the punishment I am worthy of. I hope we all burn in hell.

Suddenly, I hear someone enter the restroom. I dry my tears with some toilet paper nearby and sit on the lid of the toilet seat. My feet are also raised up to the seat, so no one will know I am here. My breathing is low and steady, trying to keep it at that pace. The room soon fills with the scent of smoke. I try not to cough, but my lungs couldn't take it any longer. As I let out a few wheezes and a couple hacks, the scent gets stronger. Footsteps walk towards me, as I hesitantly lock the stall door. The person on the other side tries to jiggle it open, but thankfully, it doesn't work.

"Dude, who's in here?" Damn, it's Larry.

"No one, fuck off!" Even though Larry may be trying to get along with me, I still have some beef with him. When he quits acting like he knows everything, then maybe he will be granted with my friendship.

"Travis," I could audibly hear him sigh distressly, "Not cool, bro."

"I am not your 'bro' or 'dude'. J-just ignore me. I'm a little off right now..."

"Is this how all Christians act? They always need their space, and if anyone tells them otherwise, then they are wrong."

I growled at his statement, retorting with a different one "Is this how all Atheists act? They seem to become their own god and act like the smartest person in the room? When in reality, they are insecure douchebags!"

"Shut the hell up!!" He kicked the stall door, hard enough for the latch to come undone. The door revealed me back in tears, as I try to put on a brave face. Larry looked like he wanted to raise a fist at me, but backed down. He rubbed his arm with his other hand, sighing once again.

"Larry, I didn't mean any of that...I just...wish my father would go away and leave me alone..." I look away and began biting my lip.

"I heard your dad does some not cool things to you. I'm sorry about that...I'm also sorry for, like, being a horrible person to you. I just...you were such a bully and hurt my friend so much in the past, regardless of your past. Sal getting hurt, hurt me as well. I did notice that you have gotten way better, I just hate to admit it. I thought people couldn't change..."

"They can, it just takes a lot of time. I didn't mean to hurt Sal like that at all. I just needed some type of mechanism to release my anger. I swear, Sal has done nothing wrong."

Larry looked at me and tried to smile, "Is there anything I can do to make it up to you, little dude?"

"Well..." I began whispering something near his ear. He nodded every few seconds, agreeing to it. This was going to be a great start to a new friendship.

The bus dropped me off at my stop. I waved bye to Larry and Todd, as Sal followed me off. I didn't let my parents know he was coming over, but that was all part of the plan. As I knocked on the door, Sally grasped my hand and held it tightly. I knew he was a bit afraid of what Mr. Phelps might say to him, but this was worth everything for the greater outcome. Soon, my father opened the door, but didn't let us in without an introduction.

"Who are you, and why are you with my son?"

"I'm Sal, his boyfriend. Nice to meet you Mr. Phe-" I figured that my dad would cut him off with something to say. Everything was going as expected.

"This is ungodly! Travis, I already told you that you have to end the relationship with him, and find yourself a girl to date!" He was already snapped.

"Oh? I wouldn't think that would matter. Love is not a choice. I think you should accept me as any gender. God says he loves everyone, so why won't you?" Sal retorted, crossing his arms.

"Two boys can't copulate and make offspring or have a family!"

"Hm, I guess adoption doesn't exist."

"That is not the way how God made it! Get out of my sight!"

I butted in soon after, "Dad, if you don't like me being gay, then just let go of me! Why do you have to abuse me everyday for being who I am! Mom doesn't like this at all!!"

"I will continue abusing you until you get some sense into your head!! I hope you are ready to see the big belt tonight!" That's when he did it. He pushed me to the cement and kicked my sides repeatedly. Sal attempted to drag him away from me, but that's when Lisa came from the side of the house and put down her phone. My father quickly halted and backed away.

Lisa frowned, giving him a stern look, "The Nockfell police may be skeptical, but how could anyone be skeptical with actual proof?" She held out her phone, proving that she recorded everything. This is the plan I told Larry. I knew his mom had a close relation with the police, with his dad disappearing in all. Hopefully, this will be enough to send my father away. For good.

My dad looked at all of us in shock, "All of you are sick! You are forcing me to like something against my religion!"

"You're the sick one, Mr. Phelps. I think your seventeen-year-old being a homosexual is less severe than beating them for all their life. I can't even believe such a Christian would so such a thing," Lisa hissed, putting her phone in her pocket, "Can't wait to get rid of you," she walked over to her car across the street and began driving to the police station.

Sal was still shocked, being as silent as a mouse. He helped me up and bring me into a tight embrace, "Travis...you did it!"

"It wasn't just me. Thank your friend, Larry, for having such a kickass mom," I laughed a bit, melting into his hug. I could tell Sal was smiling, even though he still had his mask, I mean- prosthetic, on his face. His soul just seemed to glow so bright. The only thing I regret, is not doing any of this sooner.
