~ Warning ; Steamy chapter. She's a little raunchy, not super excessive but if you're uncomfortable reading things that aren't fully soft then this may not be the chapter for you. ~
"You have 5 seconds to hand it over." Brown eyes flashed dangerously at me from the opposite side of the room and I clutched the book tighter to my chest, indignant.
"Mingi I just want to read for five minutes-"
"One." He took a step closer, giving up the pretence of circling the room. It was more of a prowl than a series of steps now though and a chill of terror ran up my spine.
Not that he would hurt me, but there was something familiar in the depths of his eyes that dared me to make the wrong move.
"Come on." I whined, casting around for something to use as a weapon against the oncoming attack. He smirked and shook his head, dark hair flipping in a nonchalant fashion across his forehead.
"Two." He was close enough now that he only needed to reach out to be able to grab onto me. I squeaked and dropped the book with a loud thud to the ground. He raised an eyebrow, glancing down at it then back up at me.
"Happy now?" I pouted at him, both annoyed that he was forcing me to give up my few minutes of reading time and delighted at the surprise in his gaze. There were very few occasions that I was able to one up him.
"Three." He closed the distance between us, trapping my body between his outstretched arms planted against the wall and the wall itself, which pressed solidly against my back. The overpowering smell of him invaded me and I choked in shock, hands reaching up to plant against his chest in an effort to maintain a tiny bubble of space between us.
"I put the book down." I insisted, tilting my gaze for a moment down to the abandoned book on the floor. He chuckled and clicked his tongue softly, as if somewhat disappointed that I hadn't been able to predict his actions.
Realistically I should have.
"Fine, what are you going to do then?" I lifted my chin defiantly, knowing my eyes were glinting back up at him with something that would only spur him on more but I didn't care now. More than one person could play these kind of games.
He smirked again and my confidence dropped.
He'd always been better at games.
"Nothing." He said after a moment, pushing himself back off the wall and two steps back from me, crossing his arms over his chest. There was a laziness to his actions, an offhanded arrogance that screamed that he expected me to follow him across the floor.
I frowned and crossed my arms too, lifting an eyebrow at him.
"Is that seriously all you've got Mingi?" I could hear the incredulous tone to my voice but he didn't bat an eye, shrugging. Without thinking I took a step, half clearing the distance between us. "Really? You think I'll just come to you because you walked away?"
Slightly angry now, the fun leeching out of the situation I edged even closer, not noticing his idle glance down towards my feet.
Fuelled by a passionate irritation that had been building up over the past week I threw my hands wildly through the air, fixing my gaze on him.
"For once you can be the one who has to sit in a room and worry about whether I'm going to come back out and talk to you." I griped, stepping close enough to grab the collar of his already half unbuttoned top. He didn't react beyond the slight smile that glanced his mouth then was gone as if it hadn't been there.
"Are you done?" He asked softly as I panted, fingers still wrapped tightly in the material of his shirt. I blinked, staring down slowly at the lack of space between us. I'd been so lost in my own rage at his actions that I'd done exactly what he wanted.
