It had been an hour.An hour of you waiting patiently for your blind date to show up.
You dropped your face into your hands with a sigh of frusturation.
You had really hoped this guy would show up.
"Hey, are you all good?" The chair opposite you scraped back and you lifted your head in surprise, hope surging in your chest.
But the boy dropping into the seat across from you was not the sandy haired, short, boy that you had been expecting. He was tall, broad and his hair a washed out red colour that accentuated his handsome face.
Somebody like him definitely shouldn't be sitting in a chair across from somebody like you.
You just gaped at him.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" His hand lifted to touch his cheek self consciously, his eyes narrowing at you. You snapped your mouth shut and shook your head, leaning back in your seat.
"Who are you?" You asked stupidly, eyes casting around for some kind of help to call. Surely this guy was insane.
"Mingi." He said matter of factly, like his name alone should dispel any worries you might have about the complete and utter stranger that had just sat himself ever so casually in front of you while you waited for your blind date to show up.
You regarded him curiously as he reached for the drink that you had ordered just under 45 minutes ago for the guy who was supposed to have shown up.
"You don't have to look at me like that," He said suddenly, looking up to meet your gaze. You tilted your head, lifting an eyebrow to communicate your confusion to him. "Like I'm going to murder you or something." He elaborated after a moment.
Despite yourself you felt a tiny smile of amusement curve the corners of your lips upwards.
"That wasn't exactly what I was thinking but now that you mention it." You hummed, grateful to see the flash of humour in his eyes.
"You looked like you weren't having a good day." He said, gesturing at the glass in front of you and then lifting the one he had picked up. "So I'm guessing he was a noshow."
You looked away, the smile slipping from your lips.
"If it's any consolation, I think he was an idiot." Mingi said softly. You still couldn't bring yourself to look at him, letting out a small sound of disagreement.
"I think the real idiot is me for thinking that it was worth my time." You muttered.
"Well you are a bit of an idiot." Mingi agreed so matter of factly that you found yourself looking at him, incredulous at his bluntness. But you found him staring in disgust at the drink in his hands rather than condescendingly at you. "This drink is disgusting, you would have scared him off."
You rolled your eyes.
Leave it to you to not only be stood up but to pick a drink that apparently was gross enough for the red haired boy to tip it into the nearby potplant behind him.
"I think that will kill it." You observed lightly when he straightened back up, setting the glass down with a soft thump in front of him. "I thought you said you weren't a murderer."
His mouth stretched in a smile so big that you were sure it must hurt him, his eyes all but disappearing below his amused reaction.
"I said I wasn't going to murder you, not that I wasn't a murderer." He shot back and you let out a small laugh, feeling like the sound sent a large weight fluttering from off your shoulders.
