Her parents are college professors, and are higher level and highly respected professors at that, so she has that higher vocabulary to be surrounded by and she got used to it. When Phoenix finally got into kindergarten, she was so frustrated with everyone else, including the teachers, that no one knew what she was talking about or couldn't understand what she was saying until she finally had a friend that could (partially) understand her in first grade and translated some of the stuff that she said to other people, and were thankfully in the same class up until middle school hit. The two were still friends, the parents were fine with each other, they went to each other's houses; so it was all fine and good. In middle school, the friend found more friends that were pretty similar, but Phoenix didn't really like them. At this point, in the country she grew up in, everyone's power shows up at around this age. She hadn't yet, and these new friends of her friend had them, including her own friend. Her friend had water, some of the other friends were Earth, water, or air. Her friend didn't bully her for that, he was fine, but his friends were nasty. She already thought that having an extended vocabulary/using bigger words was enough, but they called her Soulless, as the element is tied to the Soul, and the worst people had no Soul. It was until the beginning of the second semester in the first year of middle school that she finally got it, and it happened in the wrong time, but it felt right for her. It was in the middle of lunch and the trio of her friend's friends came over, which wasn't unusual, and they started their whole spiel of whispers in her ears. Phoenix's hair started to slowly turn on fire, and someone across from her even noticed, staring; then, it burst into flames a second later, and the person leaning over her shoulder had her face burnt, and it was serious. The one next to her had to be saved from another student because she had him choking in her flaming hand. The last kid had screamed, along with the other kids in the area, causing everyone to look, and the last kid ran to the teacher that was already coming over to see over the situation, and another had to call the police and have ambulances come over. She was one of the only few Fire Souls in history, and it only occurred with people in the highest power or the worst tempers, which Phoenix happens to have both. After that, she had to move countries into a place where no one would know who she was or where she came from, therefore very limited in using her powers. OTHER: • She's fine with water when not using fire, but when she is, it makes her weak, especially in large amounts • People think Phoenix is dumb now because she messes around a lot and she lowers her vocabulary levels by a lot • She is unafraid to call out bullshit • See Fire?
