A year later, I slowly woke up. I was in the... Infirmary? Wait... How is this possible? I just survived the death curse... How? That's impossible. Madame Pomferey noticed my awakening and ran to me, saying, "how are you awake? This can not be true.... Good thing Severus forced me to keep your body in here." I groaned and passed out.
Later that day, I woke up. Severus was standing over me, holding my hand. When he felt my hand starting to intertwine with his, his eyes grew wide and he looked at me. I had a soft smile as we made eye contact. "Se-Severus?" I was immediately hugged, feeling Severus happy crying on me. I began having happy tears as well. Severus looked me in the eyes and said, "there is something we must discuss." I asked, " what is it? " Severus said, "the only reason I left was because Voldemort threatened to kill you first, then all of the people if I did not leave... I'm sorry I disappeared without a trace left to me." I thought for a while, both of us saying nothing. Suddenly, it clicked. We knew each other because we were in each others past. He came to my side because he was being loyal... Severus is the Half-Blood Prince. Making sure, I questioned, "you are the Half-Blood Prince?" Severus nodded his head and said, "I wanted to return, Evelyn... I really did. I just couldn't... Knowing what would happen, I couldn't. I didn't want you to die. When I found out the planet was destroyed, I thought you were dead.... Until I met you here. I knew it was you. I just pretended I had no idea, for the both of our reputations." I nodded and said, " it's alright, Severus... I forgive you. " At that, he cupped my cheek with his hand softly and lowered down, softly kissing my lips. I kissed back. We shared a long, passionate, delicate kiss. Dumbledore entered, seeing us kiss. "Miss. Oglesby... May I have a word? ," he asked, causing Severus and I to stop kissing. " Yes, professor?, " I asked, looking at him. He replied, "I must inform you that because of your age, your days at Hogwarts will be over. However, I would like for you to work here... You're a powerful witch and I believe we could use you as the Head of Security." I couldn't believe it... I was offered a job at Hogwarts! I accepted it and was given a private quarter, next to Severus's. I moved my stuff in, feeling excited.
