Immediately they got to school Ronnie pulled Ross away. "C'mon, let's go."
"Go where?" Ross asked quickly locking his car.
"For your basketball tryouts."
"Wait what?" Ross asked, he tried to stop walking but Ronnie was walking too fast. "I can't do this, Ronnie.
"Ross." Ronnie stopped and looked over at him with a proud smile. "You can do this. The basketball team usually practice early so this is your only shot since you don't want to try out in front of others. You can do this, Ross."
"Are you sure?" Ross asked.
"Of course I am, if you don't do this, my efforts of stealing and memorizing the basketball team schedule would be in vain."
"Wait what?!"
"I put it back don't worry." Ronnie said as her phone chimed, the moment she pulled it out Ross was about to make a run for it but Ronnie already predicted this and blocked his path.
“Let’s go, Ross.” Ronnie said sweetly making Ross sigh.
Ross was in the gym before he knew it wearing an ash coloured T-shirt and basketball shorts. “I shouldn’t be here.” Ross said to Ronnie who was blocking the door with his uniform in her hands. “What if Cole needs me, what am I going to say? Our meeting's starting soon.” Ross ranted on, then went into full panic mode when Cole called.
“Hey Cole.” Ronnie answered.
“Why are you answering Ross’ phone?”
“He’s busy, what do you want? I'll get it for you, I'm his assistant after all.”
“I wanted him to get me some more water. . .so get me water from my locker.”
“Nice rhymes.”
“I didn’t even try.” Cole said. “Serious though, I’m really thirsty, while you’re at my locker get me some chips too.”
“Okay, I’m on it.” Ronnie said hanging up.
She put Ross' phone in her pocket. “Don’t even think about leaving, I know your house. . .and trust me, I’m fast enough to get back here in time for your big moment. Fighting.”
“Fighting.” Ross said fist bumping Ronnie. Ross walked over to the bleachers and took a seat. The sight of the coach made him take off his glasses and placed them on a chair.
“Okay gather around everyone. We have some people over here who wants to tryout over.” The Coach said surprising Ross.
"I'm not the only one?" He thought nervously as he walked over to the coach along with some other people. The coach went on to distribute blue and yellow jerseys.
“The first set is Team Blue versus yellow.”
“Hey, what’s up with Ross?” Ross heard someone say from the bleachers.
“Is he here on behalf of Cole?”
“It would be better if Cole plays instead of him.”
“I wanna see if he’s going to fall on his face without his glasses.”
Ross clenched his fist nervously, he wanted to leave when he heard someone say. “You go Ross!!!” He knew that voice too well.
“Oh My Days, it’s Ace, is he Ross’ friend?” The voice asked again.
“More like Ross’ owner.”
“OKAY, THAT’S ENOUGH SIDE TALK!!!” The coach shouted at the bleachers. “LET’S START!!!” The coach blew the whistle and the game started.
