History of the Tournament

Note:All prefectures are based on Japanese prefectures. Pls do check out japanese land mass. If am at any point wrong, you may correct me.

47 prefectures, 43 heroes battle it out once in 10 years in okinawa to celeberate the Forsaken Legend's legacy.The top 10 from the 43 prefecture duel with the four chosen from the royal familes to determine the top 10 of the tournament. The royal families also back potential candidates to win the tournament with weapons and suitable cultivation scrolls. These candidates are later recruited into one of the legions. The competition involves lot of hypocrisy,Bully pulpit,coattails and dark horses. If one wants to be respected and acknowledged by everyone, the tournament is the gateway. The Top 10 get to use any one of The forsaken Legend's martial prowess or weapon or armour. Martial trainees under 21 are eligible to paticipate in the tournament. Each prefecture can take in 100 participants and select the most powerful candidate among them to represent their prefecture. kanagawa prefecture won the last tournament and the prefecture yet to win is Okinawa. Eventhough Okinawa is considered as the epitome of martial arts, there is yet to come a hero who can change the situation. The hero is yet to be born.

Late into the night, the tidal waves thrash onto the shores of chiba prefecture. The sea is in an uproar. The waves churning and pumelling the boats viciously. Deep inside the fathomless sea, a Kraken roars and rises above the sea to bless the birth of a hero. For this hero will unleash its full potential according to the prophecy of the mermaid maidens residing at the palace of mermaid chieftain.

Meanwile at the Manor of Chiba clan, Akihito Takahashi is brimming with joy since his wife Ainu  had given birth to a boy. They name him kaito washi. Ainu holds the boy dearly. The chiba clan has a ruler now. Since Chiba prefecture is near the ocean the people train using Water element. Six years later,Akihito approaches Masato Nakamura, the highest qualified water element sage in Chiba to guide his son in the ways of the ocean. Nakamura agrees on to accept him on two conditions,

1. kaito has to help him get the Harp of the celestial mermaid from the netherworld sea

2. Kaito has to enter the Forsaken legend tournament and reach top 10 and wish for the trident of Ametarasu(water goddess) for him.

Akihito agrees to his conditions since it is not only difficult to meet the sage but also get tutelage under him. Masato Nakamura chuckles softly since he saw the rise of kraken and its bonding with kaito. Which one of the 7  sages doesn't know about the demon lord of netherworld sea? Even though he was an Old sage he always thirsted for adventure. Thus Akihito's arrival rejuvenated him. After meeting Akihito, he went back to his hut to start forging a weapon for his new student(16th to be exact).
