The outskirts of District 4 flew past me as I sat at the back of the train, on the way to the Capitol. The large window allowed me to see the tall green trees and the sun glistening off the blue waves of the ocean. The image of my mother's last message to me replayed in my head, and made me smile, knowing that even though I would be going back into the Arena, that my mother still loved me.

I felt guilty for the pain I had caused my family, making them relive the horror of their daughter and sister, going into the Games. But at the same time, I knew that it was the right thing to do.

"We'll be having dinner soon Serena."

Elainia called from the other side of the cabin, where Finnick and Mags were watching the other Victors' reapings. I peeled my cheek off the glass, and gave them a reassuring smile. Yes, I had done the right thing. I couldn't have left Annie to become a tribute in the Hunger Games, she wouldn't be able to cope. And we needed Mags as a mentor, so she couldn't have volunteered, along with the fact that Mags is too old to compete in the Games.

Even though both Finnick and I had been to the Games before, it was Mags that kept our heads clear, helped us improve our skills, and came up with the plans to help us win.

"Hey."

Someone put their hand on my bare knee, causing me to look up.

"Hey Finnick."

I replied, and returned his grim smile. We both sat silently, watching the last glimpses of our home district, before the whole train was surrounded by darkness as it sped through the tunnel that led to District 3.

We would be in the Capitol by early tomorrow morning, which meant that we would have to spend the night on this god forsaken train. It reminded me of how I didn't sleep a wink the first time I was on a train like this, for the 67th Hunger Games, and how I felt so guilty during my victory tour.

"It was brave of you to volunteer for Annie."

Finnick suddenly says, pulling me out of my train of thought.

"I don't feel very brave now."

I replied, frowning at my own cowardice.

"You're a lot braver than you think."

Finnick said in return, his sea green eyes sparkling as he smiled. Finally, he reached over for a hug, and he wraps his arms around me, pulling me close so that he can whisper in my ear,

"There's been rumours that District 12's mentor, Hamitch is planning something- some kind of rebellion, I'll explain more when we're not being watched."

And with that, he pulls away, leaning back in his chair and plastering that signature smirk back on his face, like he had said nothing at all. I stared at him, trying my hardest not to look utterly confused, or to give away the small amount of hope the news had brought me.
