Chapter 2

We pulled into the Walmart parking lot at ten o'clock and my phone rang.

"Hello?"

" hi? Is this Harlow? "

" yes. How do you know my name? "

I was starting to freak out, he couldn't have found me already.

" my grandma called me going on about this new girl that moved into town and needed her house fixed. I just assumed it was you since you called me this morning, it was you who talked to Elle May right? "

I literally flopped myself into the passenger seat.

" yes that was me. I'm sorry. I don't know to many people and I knew I didn't tell you my name so I was just confused. I'm in leesville right now. I'm going to buy some furniture so I can actually sleep in a bed tonight so after that I'll be back home. I'll be back at a decent time if you wanna come look at the house today cus I start work tomorrow. "

" that's cool. I'm in leesville too right now at lowes. So I'll just get some basic stuff and if you need help with furniture I can haul some back in my truck for you."

This was a completely different mood from earlier...

"Did your grandma make you offer to help me with furniture?"

" yes. You can't say no. I have to help you. "

I laughed into the phone. Elle may was a super sweet person. So I knew she trusted her grandson. He had to be a decent person. I wanted to get to know people. And if I was going to get 2 beds and mattresses I'd probably need help.

"Ok I'm at Walmart. Call me when you're here."

I walked in and grabbed a cart. I started in the home section, I found a white down comforter then a really cute white and gold polka dot sheets set. I moved to pillows and loaded up on pillows and accent pillows. I made sure to grab two bed nets to hang. I went to the kids bedding and found a coral and gold set for Stella. Stella was floating on pillows when I got a call from Dean.

" Hey I'm walking in. Ill meet you in furniture."

I still had no idea what Dean looked like but I made my way back to the furniture. As I turned the corner two young men were standing in front of the beds.

" you must be Harlow"

He wasn't what I was expecting. He was very tall, he was huge he towered over me but he was extremely handsome. with sun kissed tan skin and He had ash blonde hair, he smiled down at me waiting for me to answer him. I was expecting a Backwoods country boy. Not a hot carpenter.

"Yes. I'm Harlow"

" alright cool. I brought my brother. We rented a truck from lowes too so you can take more in one trip. I don't know what all you're trying to buy," he looked at my cart " it looks like the extra truck was a good idea." He laughed. And his brother stuck his hand out at me

" I'm Logan, my grandma was right. You are pretty.

I know I blushed, thanks Elle May.

"Shut up Logan. I'm sorry he's my LITTLE brother. Are you still shopping? "

" yea. I haven't even looked yet really. "

I walked down the isle. And looked at the options. I found a black poster bed that was the nicest option they had. And picked the queen for myself and the twin size for Stella. They loaded the boxes and they mattresses and box springs.

I got one more cart and filed it with curtains, bathroom necessities, towels, a shower curtain, and decided to go ahead and get a pizza for dinner later. I got a few candles to set around and help the house smell good. And 2 rugs to help our rooms feel more homey. We checked out and we had the suv loaded about the same time Dean and Logan had all the furniture loaded onto the two trucks. We headed back to Anacoco. I stopped to thank Elle May and get some stuff to make sandwiches and drinks While we set up the furniture and assessed the house.
