Ubbe x Reader

Angst.

I thought of this when listening to All that Remains cover of The Thunder Rolls. This was just something quick for me to post... Hope you enjoy.

You sat at the window looking out as lightning flashed across your face, waiting for him to come home. You were getting nervous as the storm was getting worse. He went out that morning with Ivar to practice and hasn't been back since then. It now was night time, and no one was out in Kattegat. You thought maybe he might have been with another woman all day, but you were never sure. You hoped he would never do that to you. You knew that your love was growing cold but that still didn't give him the right to sleep with another woman.

Couple hours went by and you were pacing in front of the bed, in your nightgown. You were praying to the gods that he was okay, that he was with his brothers and not where you think he is. You knew were not going to go sleep until he got back. So, you started to tidy up the house a bit every once and awhile lightning flashed and you could hear thunder, by the time you were done the storm had started to pass. As you were about to get in the bed, the door opens to the house and Ubbe walks in and looks up seeming surprised to see you still up. You walk over to him and hug him, he wrapped his arms around your waist. Thankful the gods have heard your prayers. You got a smell of him and it was his usual scent mixed with something more feminine. You knew right then that the gods haven't fully answered your prayers and that your thoughts were right. Your heart hurt knowing that the man you had loved is with another. You pulled away quickly and the lightning flashed, and he sees your eyes and he knows that you know.
