===========================

Ivory towers piled and billowing

living free 'pon cobalt fields,

spurn they all dull earthly shackles

their's the freedom of the skies,

there forever back-lit by Heaven.

Wind teased monarchs gladly drifting.

Liquid diamonds falling, falling,

careless multitudes deftly shed,

eternal brethren of the ether

an earthward gleaming silver blaze,

a billion, million tiny hearts afire.

April showers, misty smirring.

Tears of another spring a-falling

joyous to join the crashing river,

forging through gorges, narrow pouring

into vaulted caverns, ever singing,

ever foaming, tossing, churning.

Sunshine lights the river tumbling.

A misted rainbow's boldly arcing

cloaking chords of pounding thunder,

those sonorous echoes perpetual rolling

forever crash into wild oblivion,

down, down through caverns vast and deep.

Stalagmite, stalactite alone bear silent witness.

Cold mile 'pon mile, a darkness journey

'neath the granite hills of home,

hidden, silenced, lost in blackness

waiting in perpetual gloom,

praying, waiting for a sunlit succour.

Ever hungry for the morning sun.

Gushing, dashing, forth 'tis  pouring

jubilantly to greet the dawn,

a twinkling, sparkling laughing river

a torrent in dawns new light reborn,

free upon the morns bright highway.

Swift it goes to wed the eastern ocean.
