Chapter 5: The looming shadow

Ruby: "Wha!?!!?"

Y/n: "Move quickly before anyone sees us, Miss Rose."

Out of pure panic, Ruby did as she was told and locked the front door and rushed to the back office.

Ruby: "OH MY GODS YYYYY/NNNNNNNN!!!!!!"

Y/n: "Miss Rose, contain yourself. Be grateful for such a rare opportunity."

Terrified Ruby looked on in disgust as you begin to cut open the carcass of the dead man right in front of her.

As the scalpel cut into the man's chest, blood began to squirt out in various different directions getting Ruby in the process. After making the cut you take clamps to hold the incision open. Which is located on his chest, not the stomach, that's for later.

Y/n: "Now miss Rose, please outstretch your hands."

Ruby did as instructed, but of course with great reluctance. You hand her a surgical saw with some blue medical gloves. Her terror turned into raw horror as her pupils shrunk to the size of a needle and she began to shake uncontrollably whilst tears started to push out from under eyes.

Ruby: "Wha...wha... D-do I do?"

Y/n: "Focus and cut open his rib cage. Take deep breaths."

Eventually Ruby began to saw through the man's rib cage. After what seemed for ages, Ruby finally cut out the rib cage, revealing the inner workings of the body. Ruby stared at the still twitching lungs and heart. She was about to faint until you tapped her in the shoulder sending her attention away from the corpse.

Y/n: Hands Ruby a scalpel "Now very carefully cut the valve connected to the aorta and the vena cava they look like veins."

Ruby attempted to cut through, but her hands were too shaky to even get close. So you grabbed her hands, stopping her shaking and you guided her and made the cut. This same process of cutting and marking down names of the various organs and veins continued for the next 2 hours. You were about to cut open the skull until a customer meandered inside. Apparently, the lock on the door was faulty.

Y/n: "Stay put miss Rose. Let's see if the sales are up."

Customer: "Hello?..." You then squeeze out of the back office " Hey? I haven't seen you here before, Jerry never told me he has a new co-worker. Forgive me sir I'm his granddaughter Erika. What's yours?"

Y/n: "My name is Fredrick. It's a pleasure to meet you." Stick out your hand to greet her.

Ruby: "Don't you dare touch her!" Ruby used her semblance to knock the girl out of the way.

Erika: "Ouch!, what was that fo-" Erika stopped, with all of the color flushed from her face. She walked over towards her grandfather's mutilated body and looked at it. "You... You... Killed him. I can't believe you killed him..."

You went to go finish the job, but before you did the unexpected happened.

Erika: " YES! THE PIECE OF SHIT IS FINALLY DEAD! Which one of you did it!?"

Ruby opened her mouth to say it was your fault but was interrupted by you immediately pointing your finger at her.

Ruby: "Are you friggin kidding me!" She was enveloped in a tight hug with a kiss planted right her mouth.

Erika: " THANKYOU THANKYOU so much! You two can run along I will clean this up. Consider it my thanks."

Before you and Ruby could exit the back door Erika said something to Ruby.

Erika:" I'll see ya later little Rose. Hopefully next time we can get to know each other a little better." Erika winked while blowing a kiss at Ruby nearly causing her to blush a very dark red.

Y/n: "Oh my."

You two left the building into the ally way behind the storefront.

Ruby: "DON'T YOU DARE DO THAT AGAIN! YOU IDIOTIC MEANY!"

Y/n: "I honestly wonder how that woman's brain works."

Ruby: "DON'T YOU IGNORE ME! IM SERIOUS!*(brief pause)*... I don't think I feel so good." Ruby runs to a side of a dumpster and discharges her breakfast on the concrete.

Y/n: "But in the end, you now know every organ inside and out Miss Rose.

After Ruby's moment, she continued to throw childish insults at you until you both arrived a beacon.

Y/n: " Goodnight Miss Rose I wish you luck on your exam tomorrow, feel free to stop by any time of the day and we can continue our conversation in a more controlled environment. Though be sure to bring new subjects for our experiments when you do. By the way... It will do me a great relief if you keep the recent events covered."

Ruby: *overexaggerated gasp* " Nonononononono NO! NO! NO! I'm not your servant!" But by the time she finished you were already in the building.

Yang: "Ruby!" Yang ran up to her sister, with worry plastered across her face "were where you? You had me scared sick. Wait a minute! is that... Blood on your face!?"

Ruby: "It's paint!"

Yang: "What where you painting!?"

Ruby:" Y/n pulled me out of class to help him paint a table. I don't why. He said he needed help."

Yang: "Oh yeah? What did he say?"

Ruby tried her best to mimic your British accent with the added sound of your voice (scp-049).

Ruby: "Excuse me for interrupting professor, but if you would allow me to borrow Ruby. I will be most delighted."

Yang: " That isn't very convincing ya know. I'll go talk with Y/n to see if you're tellin the truth."

Ruby knowing that you where not aware of her covet up. She knew she had to come clean.

Ruby: "Yang! Wait!"

Yang: "Huh?"

Ruby: *conceding* " I got extremely bored and ditched class, and went to the emerald forest and killed some Grimm. Y/n caught me and decided to come with me and did whatever sick things he likes doing with their organs. I'm sorry for making you worry Yang."

Yang: *sighs* "It's fine Ruby, just make sure to take me with you next time. Ok?"

Ruby: *giggles* "Sure thing big sis!"

Yang: *smiles* "alright Ruby let's get some rest for tomorrow's test."

Ruby: "ok........."
