Mac's point of view

We stayed here for about 2 weeks. Every time I saw Murdoc playing with his little son, it reminded me of my own childhood. Where is my own dad and why did he leave me alone? I was just five when my mom died and since then he wasn't the same. Five years later he left me. My grandpa was still there for me, and I'm really thankful for this. This place here reminds me a little bit of Mission City, my hometown. Probably its just a trick in my brain, but suddenly I felt really alone. Lucy found her brother Alec, Murdoc is a loving father and I'm here, without anyone. "I have showed you my world now, so why don't you go home to tell Matty that you are fine?" Murdoc finally said the one thing, the one thing I was hoping to hear. He covered our eyes so we couldn't see or remember the location where he lives and after a while, he stopped his car and told us to remove our blindfolds. As we got out that car, we stood in the middle of a cornfield. Murdoc drove away and we stood alone in there.

I followed the track, which Murdoc left behind, but Lucy and Alec weren't following me. "Why aren't you coming?" I asked them. No response. Nothing. I turned around and I could see that Lucy's eyes were filled with tears, but she held them back. Her face was covered with fear and she looked at me with a look, which I have never seen before. Something between self-hate, anger and disappointment. I looked in Alec's face. He grinned and I heard one of the noises I definitely hate. The click of a loaded gun. "I always thought that operatives are smart and trust nobody... Well, I was definitely wrong. You two did an awful mistake and you have to pay for it." Alec played tricks on us. He wanted to hurt us from the very beginning. I walked slowly towards them, my hands in the air. The barrel of the gun pointed to me. I saw a red light on my chest and knew, that I would be dead if he pulls the trigger. That's the reason why I totally hate guns and other weapons: I was too often a target. I was relieved that the gun was pointed on me and not on Lucy, who was still captured in Alec's strong hold. She was now completely emotionless and her beautiful golden eyes focused on me and on the red point on my chest. Alec grinned in a way, I have only seen Murdoc smiling like that. Alec was almost Murdoc's identical twin, hopefully he doesn't enjoy watching how people suffer as much as Murdoc does. He pushed Lucy and me forward, though the cornfield. A black van, like the one from mechanics, waited for us on the side of a street. He pushed us into the back and shut the doors. We started driving and hadn't stopped for about ten hours. We stopped somewhere and suddenly the doors opened. The bright light from the sun dazzled us for a moment and Alec threw two water bottles and a pack of chips inside. Lucy and I ate in darkness. We haven't spoken since we drove in this car and now Lucy came over to me and laid her head on my chest. I played with her short hair and she started to let little sobs out: "How- "she paused and snuffled "could he do something like this? He's my brother." I hugged her and tried to calm her. "I know how you feel. Getting disappointed by your family. But just because someone is related to you, this someone isn't always nice." I thought again about my dad. After a while I noticed that Lucy fell asleep, because she started to snore in a cute way. Suddenly the van stopped moving and the door of the trunk flew open. Alec grabbed me and punched me a few times in my stomach and I couldn't breathe anymore. There was a taser pointed towards my chest and after a few seconds I felt the electricity floating through my body. He threw me on the road and left me behind, crawling on the asphalt. I could see the red back lights of the black van disappearing at the horizon and all I could do was thinking of Lucy. She was still in there and I left her behind. I got up, knowing I couldn't get Lucy back now. I ran through wheat fields, towards a light I saw on the skyline. It got bigger and bigger until I reached a village.

"Alec tricked us. Lucy is with him as his hostage. Riley, can you please tell me where Fairmont is?" I heard her fingers running over her keyboard. After a while she told me that I was in Oklahoma, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields and wilderness. They took the next flight towards Enid, the next bigger city with an air force base. I walked towards this city to wait for the team to arrive. A few hours later the Phoenix plane touched down and an alerted team got out. "Mac! Hey buddy." Jack ran down the stairs and hugged me in a brotherly way. "Hey guys. It's good to finally see you all." After a while we got into the plane for a briefing. I told them about Murdoc, Cassian and of course Alec's betrayal. I could see in their faces that they haven't expected this either. We tried to track Alec's vehicle, but our search wasn't successful, so we had to start from nothing. We stayed ten days in Enid, without any lead to Lucy. Is she alive? Is Alec treating her badly? Is she still captured? Why
couldn't I protect her? My mind was full of those thoughts until Riley screamed out: "Got'em!" She pulled her headphones off her ears and smiled. "They are in an old warehouse. I can spot two heat signatures inside. One-hour drive from here." We rushed out and got as fast as possible in the car. Jack drove like the devil in person, so we reached their hiding spot in thirty minutes. According to the signatures one person is wandering around through the whole hall, whereas one person sits motionless in a room, likely a cell. Jack rushed inside the hall to get Alec while I tried to get Lucy out of that room.
"On your left is a door. Inside should be Lucy." I heard Riley speaking over the speaker in my ear, giving orders. I opened the door and saw her. She was half unconscious and tied up on the chair. Her whole clothes were covered in blood and I could barley see her breathing. I ran towards her and cut the ropes around her body. I tried to carry her out, but suddenly there was a loud boom and the last thing I could remember, was screaming her name when I flew through the room, hitting the wall hard.
