How the heck did you get yourself into this mess. you were at one of Ink's AU gathering party when a drunk Red had decided this party needed to be spiced up a little bit. You had gotten dragged into this mess along with some of the other party guests. there was so many people here that you never thought you had a chance to not get picked, so you just this for a joke. that was until your moon necklace were suddenly picked and you were now stuck with this guy seven minutes in a closets. this may not have been so bad if it wasn't for the freaking embodiment of negative emotions and nightmare was the one sitting next to you!

You believed that both of you wished that you could be any other place than here right now. Nightmare had originally not been a part of the game until he technically got pressed into taking an item. He had been originally been curious on who the owner of the necklace was, but when he saw it was the human his brother had brought to the party, he suddenly wasn't interested in the matter. another human that cling onto positivity and probably loved his brother, maybe the two of them were together? That wouldn't explain why she was a part of this game, but it gave him a reason not to kiss her like the game said they had to do.

They were just sitting in silent until you had enough of it. "So, umm... your Nightmare?" the question came out as awkward. "You didn't know?" he answered grumpily. well, of course you knew how he was. you just tried to break the uncomfortable silent. what did he think you would say? something stupid like 'Hey, let's make out !' You guessed it was a stupid question because it impossible to confuse him for someone else. "I just tried to hold a conversation going"

"Why..." his voice came out just above a whisper. "Hmm?" you turned your head toward him. an complex expression over his face. "Why are trying to talk to me? why aren't you quivering in fear? Why don't you show any sign of hate? you know who I am, just say something. say how much you dislike my present!" you looked at him in shook. Nightmare had seemed a little bit tikt off when you noticed him at the party. you thought the best way was to be honest toward him, so you were. "Well then... than you" his face shifted from irritation to confusion before he repeated your two last words like he was checking he heard right. you nod your head to confirm your words.

"but ... why. why are you thanking me?" he looks at you like you said the most unbelievable thing ever, while being cautious about you at the same time. "I believe we need negative emotions. without it there probably would be no pain, which meant we wouldn't care how damaged we got and how sever sicknesses and bruises were. we wouldn't feel sorrow, and if we don't show sorrow when someone dies, it's like they never mattered to us. I believe there are many other ways you help us realize things in one way or another."

"what? how can you thank me. don't you feel depressed around me?" you turned your body fully toward him before answering. "Calm," he looked more confused if that was possible. "I feel calm around you. I'm always full of energy around your brother, but with you I'm calm."

you looked down at the clock on your hand before leaning in and giving him a quick peek. stopping right in front of him with a small smile. "Rules are rules" you leaned back just in time for the closet doors to open and give you your freedom back.

Nightmare was left slightly blushing in the closet before he went back to the party. "wait!" you stopped before the entry to the party and turned around to see who called you. turning around made you be face to face with a flustered Nightmare. "Umm..." He just realized he never got your name. reading his confusion you told him it before he continued. "Y/n, I was won-wondering if you had anything to do aft-after the pa-party?" he Was stuttering and he hated it, she would never take him serious. this wasn't something he would usually do, but there was something intriguing about you. something he had never seen before. "Deal"

Nightmare look up, breaking his train of thoughts to see her grinning before turning around and wandering into the party again, "It's a date then." the sound of the part was drowned out by Nightmares thoughts. a date ... he couldn't help but blush and tried his best to hide it from the other while constantly checking the clock. he couldn't wait for the party to be done.
