This world was darker than you could have imagine. Life was never god on the surface either. crime, gangs, racism and sexism. But, the underground won easily the price on having it the worst. The monster had gotten insane and more animistic over each passing day. morals don't exist anymore in a place like this. food was their top and only priority. it was even more terrifying when one of their only sources of food was you and your kind. accidentally leaving your safe space in the ruins in the house of the old king. the ruin door was nearly impossible to open from the outside. you were going to run after and try to stop a determined soul to venture outside and accidentally got looked out before you realized where you was. his scream of pain could be heard for miles for only a few minutes ago. and the scream only fueled your panicked state.
It wasn't long after looking for another place to hide you stumbled on two terrifying skeletons. The one most excited to find you was the shortest of the two. even if he still towered over you. his face seemed pretty beaten up, with jagged, crimson shaded, oddly shaped teeth. Ripped and tatter clothing that was stained with both blood and dirt that had become too small for him. It was impossible to see what color his glows and bots was thanks to the staining. eyes lighting up when they landed on you and sealing your fate. The second skeleton was the most terrifying in your opinion. he was much, much taller than anyone you had ever meet. a large crack stretched over the right side of his skull. a ripped orange hoodie that exposed his spine, just as stains and filthy like the smaller one. a stick was placed in his mouth, slowly being chewed on by his slightly jagged teeth and one eye burning into you. both eye socket were as dark as the night, as the night, but you still only felt like one was following your every move. even with that lazy grin of his with a hash glare with something you couldn't quite place was hidden in his eyes. a bone was placed over his shoulder with a sharpened end that had it look like a type of spear.
You couldn't focus on what the one smallest said. an opinion that was sure to just further seal your fate and putting you in a grave. fear engulfing you and making your body shake while staring at the taller one. knowing that staring was bad thanks for your parents always scolding you, but you couldn't help it. His empty sockets were burned into you and waiting to strike. easily getting his next meal. moments later made you wish even more you would have listened to what the smaller one told you. Traps puzzles after puzzles were thrown at you. each one a bit closer to be ending your life. by some miracle you survived every one. shaking while trying to south your panic attack. blood dripping out from multiple wounds and staining the already crimson snow. head barely focusing on the conversation happen above you. "BUT SHE... IT WOULD BE... KILL HER!" It sounded like the smaller one, Sans ad you found out by him yelling his name out to the world, he was conflicted by something. "I... don't worry... " the crunching of snow came closer to your laying form. looking up at Papyrus from the cold ground made him only look more terrifying and taller. blackness surrounded your vision before you could find out your fate. and seemed to judge your every action.
You were somewhere warm. slowly opening to see a room. it was not your own or the room you called your own in the ruins. you laid on a couch that had seen better days, a ripped up blanket over you to give you at least a bit of covers. you laid there cautiously scanning the room and looking for any sign of danger. this was probably not heaven so there was a big chance you weren't eaten jet. which was a much more scary thought than being dead. there was another present on the other side of the couch as it lowers itself down. a silent scratch was let out before your head swung toward your intruder. the tall skeleton was seated next to you. nearly chewed up stick in his mouth. your body was shaking but froze up at the same time. it took some time but you managed to find your voice. "Why... why am I still alive?" mentally kicking yourself by how law and weak you voice was and why you would choose to ask that of all question.
You were met with silent for quite a long time, even starting to wonder if he fell asleep or def."You actually made it through... my brothers puzzles" he spoke slowly. like he was had to think hard before pronouncing every letter. "Not many are capable of... surviving them" his head slowly turned and it felt like he was staring straight to your soul. "it's a hard place down here... not easy getting any type of food, but... my brother still have his good soul... he couldn't kill you after you managed to beat his puzzles... it would be unfair." Confusion was spread on your face as the two of you just kept staring at each other in silence before he turned his face away from you again. ":.. what am I supposed to do know then" you whispered. mostly to yourself. you had survived this deaf trap, but that wouldn't mean you would survive the next. " that's up to you to decide" the lanky skeleton answers.
...
You made it... you actually made it. you started on the sixteenth sunset since that he*l. It still feel like a dream and that you would just wake up back in the underground any moment. many cuts and bruises liters your skin as reminders of everything that happens. you... them... every one down there was free. free to explore and not go hungry for another day. you stood in your hotel room and looked out. sadly your home was sold after you were gone for months and people thought you were dead, but the goods part was there was still a good amount of stuff that people still had and had given you back. taking your keys and bag before heading out to look at some houses for sale.
navigating thru the city that were full of both monster and humans. there was some laws still in the making, but for now everything were good. turning a corner made you collide with something coming at nearly full speed. "I'M TERRIBLE SORRY HUMAN LET ME... OH, ITS YOU! IT SO GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN" looking up made you look eye with familiar looking skeleton and in the corner of your eye see the familiar shape of the other one. "oh, hi! um, Sans?" this would be really awkward if you were wrong on your assumptions. after confirming that Sans was in fact his name, made the two skeleton that had showed you mercy tag along with you. Sans was often a good mount of feet in front of you and his brother. Not much stress on losing sight on him mad you focus and start chatting with Papyrus, who had a cigarette between his teeth instead of a stick.it was... nice, just talking like this
Getting to one of the places you wanted to check out made you say your goodbyes. Sans insisting on giving you a goodbye hug that knocked the wind out of your lungs before getting distracted by a taco stand at the end of the street. his brother lingering beside you longer. "guess this is our goodbye than" chuckling awkwardly before heading up the stairs. hand outstretched hand with and old nearly destroyed phone stopping you. "... Number?" you stood blinking at the phone like you never had seen a device like that before getting that he was asking to trade numbers. "Do you want to... hang out sometime? maybe... go out and eat?" he asked after you had quickly gotten back on track and punching in your number before handing his phone back. "oh, of course. just text me the time" not before getting to the door of the apartment before it hit you that you were asked out on a date.
